This study was conducted to determine the reasons for the non-participation of members of the association\u27s programs and activities. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach and semi-structured interviews with 20 non-participating members from four barangays, this study identified key reasons for non-participation, including familial responsibilities, political divisions, poor leadership, interpersonal conflict, and perceived unfair distribution of benefits. The analysis revealed that familial responsibilities, political issues, and leadership deficiencies were the most significant barriers to participation. This study investigated the effectiveness of the Punnet Square Dihybrid Cross (PUSDIC) board game in enhancing Grade 8 students\u27 mastery of predicting phenotypic expressions of traits. Using a quasi-experimental design with 40 students from Cauayan City National High School, the research compared an experimental group using the PUSDIC board game to a control group receiving traditional instruction. Results showed significantly higher post-test scores in the experimental group, with a mean increase of 28.10 points (p < .001) from pre- to post-test. The PUSDIC board game demonstrated a very large effect size, indicating its substantial impact on students\u27 mastery of the subject. This interactive approach addresses challenges in teaching genetics by promoting active learning, critical thinking, and collaboration. The study supports the use of educational board games as an effective, accessible, and low-cost strategy for teaching complex scientific concepts to secondary school students, offering an engaging approach to improve science education outcomes

    Get PDF
This study assessed the impact of Random Drug Testing (RDT) on the internal cleansing efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Police Regional Office (PRO) 12. Using a quantitative research design, structured surveys were conducted with 16 PNP personnel across various ranks, designations, and years of service. The study analyzed RDT results from 2020 to November 2024, showing a low overall positivity rate of 0.03%. Most units demonstrated strong compliance, although Sarangani PFU reported two positive cases, and General Santos City Forensic Unit did not conduct any RDTs, highlighting a need for uniform implementation. Respondents strongly agreed on RDT’s role in identifying substance abuse, ensuring fairness, and promoting a drug-free culture. However, privacy concerns were raised by some participants, indicating varying perceptions about the potential invasion of privacy. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in perceptions based on rank, designation, or length of service, suggesting a consistent view of RDT\u27s effectiveness across groups. An expert forensic chemist affirmed the reliability of the drug testing protocols. This study provided valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of RDT in enhancing internal discipline within the PNP and offered recommendations for policy improvement and uniform implementation across all units. &nbsp

    Get PDF
This study investigated the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of the thematic approach towards inclusive education among elementary teachers in Iba District, Philippines. A descriptive correlational design was employed, utilizing a survey questionnaire administered to 75 elementary teachers from three selected schools. The findings revealed that the teacher-respondents demonstrated a high level of knowledge and consistently practiced the thematic approach in their teaching strategies, learning activities, instructional materials, and assessment. Furthermore, there is a strong association (r=0.886, p=<0.01) between teachers\u27 knowledge of the thematic approach and their reported use of it in their teaching practices in ensuring inclusive science education. Thus, professional development that enhances teachers\u27 understanding of the thematic approach is recommended, as this is directly associated with improved classroom implementation and more effective inclusive education practices. Additionally, further research could explore the specific impacts of thematic teaching methods on student learning outcomes and inclusivity in diverse classroom settings

A quantitative correlational research design was used to explore the relationship of PERMA in PE and the students’ holistic development. It was found that students are generally viewing themselves as functioning at a “normal” level across all PERMA components of well-being. All the five components of PERMA were identified as significant correlates of all five domains of students\u27 holistic development, and so as the Meaning and Accomplishment component, shown as the strongest correlation among the components of PERMA model. Therefore, the researchers recommend that the Senior High School Physical Education curriculum may incorporate the PERMA model and may be more focused on integrating Meaning and Accomplishment as aspects of holistic development

    Get PDF
Innovation is pivotal for corporate sustainability in competitive emerging markets. This study examines the innovation management strategies of leading Philippine corporations in finance, real estate, retail, and technology from 2020 to 2024, utilizing the Input-Process-Output-Outcome (IPOO) framework, which maps how inputs are transformed into processes, outputs, and outcomes. Through qualitative content analysis of corporate reports and industry publications, we identify context-specific strategies, such as digital transformation (e.g., online platforms), sustainability initiatives (e.g., carbon neutrality), and customer-centric approaches (e.g., AI-driven tools), as key drivers of growth. For instance, SM Prime Holdings achieved a 14% net income increase in 2024 through sustainable mall expansions (SM Prime, 2024), while BDO Unibank’s AI-driven tools enhanced customer engagement by an estimated 20% (based on corporate reports). The study contributes to innovation management literature by demonstrating how these strategies drive financial and environmental outcomes in emerging markets, offering insights for policymakers and business leaders

    Get PDF
This study examined the internal migration dynamics in Brooke’s Point, Palawan, with particular emphasis on the socio-economic demographic profile of in-migrants, the key aspects influencing migration, and its economic, social, and environmental implications for local development.Employing a descriptive-empirical survey design, data were gathered from 381 respondents across eight barangays with significant migrant populations.Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Pearson’s r and Chi-square tests, to determine relationships between socio-economic variables and migration patterns.Findings reveal that internal migration in Brooke’s Point is primarily economically driven, dominated by working-age, married, and male individuals seeking better livelihood opportunities. The municipality’s role as a regional agro-industrial hub has made it a major destination for migrants from Luzon and the Visayas. Most migrants are semi-skilled and engaged in informal or self-employed work, reflecting both the opportunities and vulnerabilities of migration. The study affirms E. Lee’s Push-Pull Theory, with lack of jobs as the strongest push factor and employment availability as the main pull factor, while De Haas’ Migration Transition Theory explains the shift from survival-driven to opportunity-driven migration. Migration has generated largely positive effects stimulating business growth, expanding markets, and fostering cultural diversity. However, challenges persist, including underemployment, social integration gaps, and environmental strain from unregulated settlement expansion. To address these, the study recommends integrating the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) framework in local governance, strengthening skills training and livelihood programs, promoting social cohesion, and enforcing sustainable land-use policies.Overall, internal migration in Brooke’s Point emerges as both a transformative and strategic force for inclusive and sustainable rural development
