Islam in New Zealand – A Mixed Reception: Historical Overview and Contemporary Challenges

أهداف البحث: يهدف هذا البحث إلى استعراض تاريخ الإسلام في نيوزيلندا، بالإضافة إلى بعض المشكلات الكبرى والتحديات الخطيرة التي واجهها المسلمون عبر التاريخ. يتضح من النظر إلى تاريخ المسلمين الأوائل الذين استوطنوا البلاد، ونشأة المنظمات الإسلامية والمؤسسات الموالية لها أن الجالية المسلمة في نيوزيلندا قد استُقبلت حينًا بالحفاوة وحينًا بالعداوة في بلاد عُرفت عامةً بالتسامح والترحيب بالجميع. منهج الدراسة: تعتمد هذه الدراسة منهج التحليل النقدي للأدبيات المتوافرة، التاريخية منها والمعاصرة. وتبحث في التطورات المتشابكة التي مرت بها الجالية المسلمة، واعتناق السكان للإسلام، والعنف الذي مورس من خلال حملات التشويه وتدمير المساجد كرد فعل على الأحداث الخارجية في العقود الأخيرة، إضافةً إلى ظاهرة الإسلاموفوبيا والهجوم الإرهابي الأخير الذي استهدف مسجدين في مدينة كرايست تشيرش. النتائج: تسلط الدراسة الضوء على موقف الجالية المسلمة في نيوزيلندا ونطاق تأثيرها في البلاد وطبيعته، فهي تشكل تراتبًا اجتماعيًا ذا ماضٍ معقد ومشكلات داخلية متعددة. لذا فقد اختتمت هذه الدراسة بنبذة وجيزة عن خبرة المهاجرين المسلمين في البلاد، وأوضحت كذلك ضرورة إجراء المزيد من الأبحاث في المستقبل مع ضرورة دراسة الثقافة والدين والتاريخ في نيوزيلندا من زوايا مختلفة. أصالة البحث: تتبين أصالة هذه الدراسة من ارتباطها بمسألة الدين؛ التي تمحورت حولها الدراسة؛ فهي الدراسة الأكاديمية الأولى من نوعها بعد مجزرة 2019 التي تناولت بصورة مباشرة كلا من تاريخ الأقلية المسلمة والقضايا المعاصرة مثل ظاهرة الإسلاموفوبيا.Purpose: This research aims to discuss the history of Islam in New Zealand, together with some of the pressing issues and challenges Muslims have encountered along the way. Looking back at the history of early Muslim settlers and the emergence of Muslim organizations and allied enterprises, it is clear that the Muslim community in New Zealand has had a rather mixed reception in a land that, on the whole, is perceived to be benignly tolerant and accepting. Methodology: The research is based on a critical analysis of the available literature, both contemporary and historical. This paper explores complicated community developments, conversions to Islam, the violence experienced with defacement and destruction of mosques in reaction to overseas events over recent decades, ongoing Islamophobia, and the infamous 2019 terrorist attack on two mosques in the city of Christchurch.  Findings: The research highlights the status of the New Zealand Muslim community and the extent and nature of their influence in the country. It constitutes a social hierarchy with a complex past and multiple internal issues. Accordingly, this paper concludes with a brief discussion of the migrant experience of Muslims. It also elucidates the necessity of further research in the future and emphasizes the need to study the culture, faith and history of New Zealand from various angles. Originality: This is illustrated in the direct attachment of the research to the core topic of religion. This is the first academic study to deal directly with both the history of the Muslim minority and contemporary issues such as Islamophobia following the 2019 massacre

Changing God’s Creation through Plastic Surgeries

أهداف البحث: يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة مدى اعتبار التغيير للحسن والجمال وصفًا يصلح للتعليل؛ ليُقاس عليه كل ما هو جديد في المسألة. منهج الدراسة: اتبع الباحثان المنهج الاستقرائي والتحليلي والنقدي المقارن؛ لإنجاز أهداف الدراسة والإجابة عن مشكلتها. النتائج: توصلنا إلى عدة نتائج من أهمها: أن التزين والتجمل يعد من العادات والمعاملات، وهو مما يلتفت فيه إلى المعاني والتعليل والقياس، وليس في وصف "تغيير خلق الله" نص يدل عليه صراحة أو دلالة، أو إجماع، كما لا يصلح عِلَّة يُبنى عليها حكم عمليات التجميل التحسينية، فلا بد من البحث عن علة أخرى تصلح لبناء الحكم عليها. أصالة البحث: امتاز هذا البحث بتناوله مسألة التعليل بوصف تغيير خلق الله من ناحية أصولية، واختبار هذا الوصف وعرضه على مسالك العلة؛ لمعرفة مدى صلوحه لأن يكون عِلَّة ابتداء، قبل البحث في ضابطه وتحديد معناه.Purpose: This study aims to examine the extent to which change for the good and beautiful could be considered a description fit for explanation to measure all that is novel in this issue. Methodology: The researcher relies on the comparative inductive, analytical and critical methodology to accomplish the objectives of the study and answer its problem. Findings: The study reaches several conclusions, the most important of which: that adornment and beautification are habits and social transactions, in which meanings, explanation and measurement are turned to. There is nothing that refers to that issue explicitly or implicitly in the explanation of "changing God's creation". Neither is there any consensus. This is not fit also to be a reason on which Fiqhi opinion of aesthetic cosmetic operations could be based. It is then necessary to search for another reason suitable for building the opinion on. Originality: This study is characterized by its handling of the issue of reasoning by using the description of “changing God's creation” from a fundamental perspective. The study also tests this description and looks in to it where the modes of reasoning is concerned to determine the extent to which it could be considered as a reason in the first place, before studying its controls and defining its meaning

The Holy Book of Tao and Its Arabic Translations - An Introduction

أهداف البحث: يهدف البحث إلى توجيه النظر إلى الدراسة المباشرة للكتب المقدسة غير الكتابية، بتناول أحد أهم الكتب المقدسة في الصين، وإبراز مركزها الفكري والعقدي في العالم، من خلال رؤية تحليلية لبعض متضمنات "كتاب التاو"، وترجماته العربية، حيث تناوله في دراسات غير أكاديمية أُناس ليسوا مختصين فدرسوه بتحيزات غير موضوعية، وهذه الدراسة تقوم بالتعريف بالكتاب وتقييم تلك الدراسات، ونقل ذلك كله إلى المجال الأكاديمي التخصصي. منهج البحث: يقوم البحث على المنهج الاستقرائي، من حيث تتبع ما يتعلق بالكتاب من ترجمات وشروح بالعربية، ثم المنهج الوصفي الذي يعرِّف بالكتاب، ثم المنهج التحليلي والنقدي المتعلق ببعض قضاياه وما كُتب حوله من دراسات. النتائج: أبرز البحث المكانة الدينية لكتاب "التاو"، وبيان مدى تأثيره في الحقل الديني العالمي، وضرورة توجه أنظار الباحثين إلى مزيد من دراسات حوله، وبيَّن أنَّنا في حاجة أكثر لدراسة ثقافة وأديان وتاريخ الصين؛ لاعتبارات عديدة منها: محاولة البحث في قضية النبوة والأنبياء والرسالات في هذه المنطقة، ثم لكون الصين حضارة كبيرة منافسة للعالم الإسلامي، ولعلنا بفهم هذه اللغة والثقافة والتاريخ والأديان نتمكن من التواصل الديني والحضاري مع هذه الحضارة الصاعدة والمنافسة. أصالة البحث: تظهر أصالة البحث في كونه أول بحث على المستوى الأكاديمي، يتناول هذا النص المقدس مباشرة باللغة العربية، وفي كونه معرِّفًا بكافة ما نُشر عنه بالعربية في السياق غير الأكاديمي. مع دراسة ومناقشة هذه الدراسات.Purpose: This research aims to draw attention to the direct study of nondivine books. The research discusses one of the most important holy books in China and highlights its intellectual and ideological status in the world through analytical insight into some of Book of Tao’s implications and its Arabic translations. This book has been discussed in nonacademic studies by nonspecialist persons, who therefore studied it subjectively. This research identifies the book, evaluates those studies and translates them to the specialized academic arena. Methodology: The research is based on an inductive approach by tracking Arabic translations and explanations of the book; a descriptive approach, which involves reviewing the book; and an analytical and critical approach that examines some of the issues in and studies that have been written about the book. Findings: The research highlights the religious status of the "Book of Tao", the extent of its influence in the international religious field, and the necessity of conducting more studies about it. This research showed that we need further studies on China's culture, religions, and history in many areas, including the issue of prophethood, prophets, and messages in this region. Furthermore, as China is a great civilization competing for dominance in the Islamic world, if we can understand the relevant languages, cultures, history, and religions, we can make religious and civilization outreach more effective in this rising civilization and competition. Originality: The originality of this research comes from many points, such as it is the first academic research to address this holy text directly in Arabic. Moreover, this research reviews, studies, and discusses all of the works in this book in the Arabic language in a nonacademic context
