Investigation of Static and Fatigue Characteristics of Thermoplastic CF-UD/PEKK Material for Rotorcraft Lug Parts
In rotary wing aircraft, composite lug structures are perforated structures that connect the rotor and blades. They play a significant structural role in rotary wing aircraft. In this study the effect of lay-up parameters on mechanical strength of a thick composite part that represents a blade root. This part is autoclave manufactured polyetherketoneketone matrix carbon fiber reinforced (CF/PEKK) composites, which have recently been researched for usage in defense and aerospace is investigated. The chosen material carbon-fiber-reinforced polyetherketoneketone composites (CF-PEKK) have an excellent mechanical, physical, thermal performance. Aerospace sector has a special interest on this material due to material's low density and versatility. In this study, static and fatigue performance of rotorcraft lug part were investigated by applying non-destructive-test (NDT) methods and the mechanical strength values were discussed according to the experimental results. It has been observed that the component parts with -/+ 45 degrees layup has the highest mechanical strength. As a result of the static and fatigue tests, it is seen that satisfactorily performance in the view of the both static and dynamic loading states.Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUEBIdot;TAK) under the Frontier R&D Laboratory Support Program [5189901]This study is a part of the project (# 5189901) supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUEB & Idot;TAK) under the Frontier R&D Laboratory Support Program and hosted in Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc.
Assessing Accessible Open and Green Areas for Emergency Gathering and Temporary Shelter: The Case of Lefkoşa, TRNC
This study focuses on the potential of accessible open and green areas (OGAs) to serve as gathering spaces and temporary shelters during emergency response to disasters such as flood, earthquake, storm, terrorism, battle, etc. Specifically, the city of Lefkoşa in Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is studied in this context. A systematically constructed approach is employed, starting with the identification of the Dense Urban Core (DUC) within an 800 m access zone of OGAs and with a population density of more than 260 ha based on the Lefkoşa Urban Development Plan (LUDP). The study then determines the OGA requirements for gathering and temporary shelters during and after disasters, based on the floor area ratio, maximum building footprint ratio and projected population density given by LUDP. As a result of the study, the OGA requirements within the scope of the DUC were calculated to be minimum of 92 ha for gathering places, and minimum of 687 ha for temporary shelters. In this context, the city's disaster resilience index of the city is determined respectively to be 0.46 and 0.10. It is expected that this study will contribute to the integration of urban OGA development plans with disaster management efforts

Employing pre-annealing as a control tool for alloying in CdSeTe/ CdTe stacks produced by evaporation in vacuum
Alloying plays a critical role in CdSeTe/CdTe stacks used as absorber structure in high efficiency solar cells. In this study, the effect of pre-annealing between CdSeTe and CdTe on the structural and optical properties of stacks was examined in detail. After the CdSeTe layers (before CdTe) were grown by vacuum evaporation, pre-annealing was applied at moderate temperatures in the range of 200 degrees C-300 degrees C. According to both XRD patterns and Raman spectra, a clear effect of preannealing temperature on alloying ratios and phase formations between CdSeTe and CdTe was ascertained. It was observed from the surface images that the change in pre-annealing temperature affected the grain sizes and morphology, depending on the Se ratios in the alloying. It was found that the transmission spectrum shifted to the long wavelength region with the change in crystallization as a result of pre-annealing. In the PL spectra, the presence of transitions related to the phase structures revealed by the XRD results was detected. In consequence, pre-annealing at 250 degrees C presented more promising results for potential CdTe cell applications
Understanding possible personal correlates of organizational citizenship behavior: Mindfulness and oneness behaviors
The current study aims to understand the mechanisms underlying the predictive relationship between mindfulness and organizational citizenship behaviors especially targeted for other individuals inside the organizations. As part of this relationship model, oneness behaviors were suggested as an actor of mediation. A sample of 281 blue collar employees participated for the study with employing a multi-source data gathering method. In line with the self-regulation and Buddhist based conceptualizations, and previous related research, statistical analyses revealed significant effects of mindfulness on organizational citizenship behavior towards individuals (OCBI) after controlling demographic variables, and showed fully mediated roles of one and other sub dimensions in mindfulness-OCBI interaction. The current study brings a novel approach to mindfulness and organizational citizenship relationship by including oneness behaviors inside the research model while stressing the importance of interconnectedness and how it could be practiced inside the organizations
Irrigation and potassium fertilization effects on plant growth, tuber yield, quality, and water use efficiency of potato
Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) requires high levels of water and potassium to achieve optimal yield and quality. This is of importance for the sustainable agriculture, and therefore, it is quite concern of agronomists to define the proper irrigation level and potassium rates in potato. In this study, we tested three irrigation levels (full irrigation (I100), 66% full irrigation (I66; 33% deficit), 33% full irrigation (I33; 66% deficit)), and six potassium doses (K0:0 kg ha-1 of K, K1:40 kg ha-1 of K, K2:80 kg ha-1 of K, K3:120 kg ha-1 of K, K4:160 kg ha-1 of K and K5:200 kg ha-1 of K) in Agria. The study was conducted in Nigde (Central Anatolia, Turkiye, 37 degrees 56 ' 31.8 '' N 34 degrees 38 ' 04.2 '' E) as a two-year field experiment. In the experiment, the respective values were recorded for each variable; plant height 36.0-92.0 cm, maturation period 82.0-98.0 days, number of stem per plant 3.4-4.7, number of tuber per plant 4.1-7.7, tuber yield per plant 247.1-846.2 g, marketable tuber ratio 79.4-99.4%, discarded tuber ratio 0.6-5.7%, secondary structured tuber ratio 0.0-16.6%, total tuber yield 11.8-38.7 t, dry matter 19.2-21.6%, specific gravity 1.072-1.087 g cm3, and starch 13.2-15.9%. Besides, it was determined that the optimum irrigation x potassium interaction was achieved at I100xK3 and I100xK4 in terms of plant and yield parameters, and I33xK3 and I33 x K4 in terms of tuber quality parameters. In our work, we concluded that a water need of average 590-720 mm (not including the effective rainfall amount) and potassium supply of 120-160 kg ha-1 in Central Anatolia will be optimal for the potato cultivation. The findings of this study will contribute to potato cultivation practices by providing proper information about the optimal irrigation need and potassium dose.Scientific Research Project Office (BAP) of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University [TGT 2020/4-LUETEP]This research was supported by the Scientific Research Project Office (BAP) of Nigde Omer Halisdemir University (grant numbers: TGT 2020/4-LUETEP). THE GENOMIC LANDSCAPE OF THE SWITCH/SUCROSE NON-FERMENTABLE CHROMATIN REMODELING COMPLEX IN ACUTE MYLEOID LEUKEMIA
The SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex is involved in the regulation of gene expression required for processes such as cell maintenance and differentiation in hematopoietic stem cells. Abnormalities in the SWI/SNF subunits involved in the homeostasis of hematologic processes contribute to the initiation or progression of hematologic malignancies, but the mechanisms underlying this phenotype are not yet fully understood. The aim of study is to comprehensively identify mutations and expression profiles in the genes forming the SWI/SNF complex using bioinformatics tools, with a focus on understanding the underlying mechanisms. Genomic sequences and expression profiles of an AML cohort (n:872) were obtained from using tools and subsequently analyzed. PolyPhen-2, SIFT, and Mutation Assessor tools were used to estimate the oncogenic/pathogenic effects of mutations identified in 9 genes encoding subunits of the complex ARID1A, ARID1B, SMARCA2, SMARCA4, SMARCE1, SMARCB1, DPF2, PMBR1, and BCL7A in AML pathogenesis. STRING analysis was performed to better understand the functional relationships of the mutant proteins in cellular processes. Furthermore, to the mutation profile, gene expression and survival profiles were also determined. A total of 17 genetic abnormalities were determined in 9 genes, including 9 missense, 6 frameshift mutations, 1 mutation in the splice region, and 1 fusion mutation. In the AML cohort, the expression levels of ARID1A, ARID1B, SMARCA2, and PMBR1 were significantly higher in the patient group compared to the healthy group (p<0.01). Survival analysis based on low and high gene expression profiles showed no significant difference in results. In STRING analysis, our genes were found to have functional relationships with the PHF10 protein, which is involved in cell cycle control. The results suggest that the mutations identified in the ARID1A, ARID1B, SMARCA2, SMARCA4, and PBRM1 may disrupt the function of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes, possibly inducing/activating different cellular pathways involving different chromatin environments during AML pathogenesis

Pedal curves obtained from Frenet vector of a space curve and Smarandache curves belonging to these curves
In this study, first the pedal curves as the geometric locus of perpendicular projections to the Frenet vectors of a space curve were defined and the Frenet vectors, curvature, and torsion of these pedal curves were calculated. Second, for each pedal curve, Smarandache curves were defined by taking the Frenet vectors as position vectors. Finally, the expressions of Frenet vectors, curvature, and torsion related to the main curves were obtained for each Smarandache curve. Thus, new curves were added to the curve family
