Design of A Decision Support System for Students\u27 Extracurricular Choices using the TOPSIS Method at SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi
Education not only emphasizes academic excellence but also requires the development of students\u27 character, talents, and soft skills. Extracurricular activities play a crucial role in providing students with opportunities to explore their potential beyond the classroom. However, students often encounter difficulties in selecting the most suitable extracurricular activity, which may result in low motivation and reduced participation. To address this issue, a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) was developed using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The system considers multiple criteria, namely interest, talent, academic achievement, parental support, physical condition, and equipment cost, to generate objective recommendations. The research was conducted at SMKN 1 Bukit Sundi with seven extracurricular alternatives, including Futsal, Volleyball, Pramuka, Paskibra, Marching Band, OSIS, PMR, and Randai. The system was implemented using PHP and MySQL, providing an automated process of normalization, weighting, calculation of ideal solutions, and ranking. Results showed that Futsal achieved the highest preference value (0.755846), followed by Volleyball and Pramuka, while Randai ranked lowest with a value of 0.223794. These findings indicate that student preferences are strongly aligned with sports and leadership activities, while traditional art forms are less favoured. The system proved to be consistent with manual calculations and successfully enhanced transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in extracurricular selection. Compared to alternative methods such as SAW, TOPSIS offered greater flexibility by accommodating both benefit and cost attributes simultaneously. This study contributes practically by providing a tool that supports schools and students in decision-making, and academically by extending the application of TOPSIS in vocational education
Implementation of The Apriori Algorithm on X Cafe Sales Transactions for Product Bundling Package Recommendations
Bundling packages are a marketing strategy in which several products are combined at a more attractive price than if purchased separately. The Impact of Ease of Digital Access on the Increase in Online Gambling Cases Among Students
This study investigates the relationship between ease of digital access and increasing online gambling participation among Indonesian university students. Through a quantitative descriptive approach involving 420 respondents from various universities, the research examines how technological advancement has influenced gambling behavior among students and its multidimensional consequences. The findings reveal a significant correlation between digital accessibility and gambling participation, with 43.3% of respondents having engaged in online gambling and 25.9% remaining active gamblers. Students with easy digital access were nearly three times more likely to gamble online compared to those with limited access. Demographic analysis showed higher participation rates among male students and those residing in urban areas with superior digital infrastructure. The research identified substantial negative impacts on participants, including psychological effects (76.4% experiencing stress and anxiety) and academic consequences (56.6% reporting decreased concentration). Despite 62% of students claiming moderate digital literacy, only 28% demonstrated true understanding of digital risks, revealing a critical gap between technical proficiency and risk awareness. The majority of gambling-involved students (67.2%) reported first encountering gambling through social media platforms, highlighting the influential role of digital marketing in normalizing gambling behavior. This study underscores the need for comprehensive interventions including enhanced digital literacy education, campus-based support services, strengthened regulatory frameworks, and innovative prevention campaigns targeting digital-native students. The research contributes to understanding how rapidly evolving digital ecosystems create unprecedented challenges in academic environments and offers strategic recommendations for institutional and governmental responses to protect student welfare and academic success

Stock Investment Portfolio Optimization Using Mean-Variance Model Based on Stock Price Prediction with Long-Short Term Memory
Stock investment in the technology sector in Indonesia offers high potential returns. However, like any other investment instruments, the associated risks cannot be overlooked. Therefore, an appropriate portfolio optimization strategy is needed to enable investors to achieve optimal returns while managing risk. In this study, the author combines stock price prediction approaches with portfolio optimization methods to construct an efficient portfolio. The Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) model is used to predict daily closing stock prices, with model performance evaluated using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) metrics. An optimal LSTM model is obtained with a batch size hyperparameter of 16 for ISAT, MTDL, MLPT, and EDGE stocks, and a batch size of 32 for DCII stock. For all stocks, the average prediction error from the actual values falls within the range of 1.53% ≤ MAPE ≤ 3.52%. The optimal portfolio is constructed using the Mean-Variance risk aversion model to maximize expected returns while considering risk. The resulting optimal portfolio composition consists of a weight allocation of 19.7% for ISAT stock, 36.8% for MTDL stock, 34.8% for MLPT stock, 3.6% for EDGE stock, and 15% for DCII stock. This portfolio yields an expected portfolio return of 0.001249 and a portfolio variance of 0.000311
