    Learning Activities at Primary and Secondary Schools in Laos to Learn Scientifically about Cleaning Effects of Soap and Importance of Hand Washing Through Soap Making

    Diarrheal diseases are one of the most common diseases among children in Laos, and the main reason is that hygiene practices such as hand washing have not been widespread yet. Using soap as a teaching material, we conducted primary and secondary science classes in Laos to help students enhance their interest in hand washing and wash their hands habitually. In this class, we taught students how to wash their hands effectively by making solid soap with liquid soap and using a chemical to visualize dirt on hands. This learning activity was found to be effective for both primary and secondary students in increasing their interest and motivation in hand washing. Although soap is a familiar daily material, its forming process includes high school learning contents in chemistry, such as salting-out and saponification. This activity is expected to be useful not only for hygiene instruction but also for advanced science learning according to learners’ grades.departmental bulletin pape

    Longitudinal Effectiveness of Sexual and Gender Diversity Education for Japanese Students: from the perspective of inter-minority empathy, tendency to reject heterogeneity, and knowledge

    本研究では,LGBTQ+非当事者を対象とし回顧的再評価にて「性の多様性」授業により現在まで持続している効果,および効果への授業以外の媒介要因を探索的に検討した。その結果,受講経験がない人は「異質な存在としての当事者イメージ」,高校で初めて受講した人は「現実的な当事者イメージ」,高校まで継続的に受講してきた人は「 現実的な当事者の存在」へと当事者の捉え方に違いが見られた。覚えている授業内容は性の多様性を認める態度形成の過程(葛西・小渡, 2018)の「セクシュアルマイノリティの可視化」「当事者との親密化」が多く 「自身への気づき」を含む 「マイノリティ共感」は少なかった。すなわち現在の 「性の多様性」教育で自分自身が「性の多様性」の一員と捉え,LGBTQ+当事者を「当たり前の存在」と捉えるに至っておらず,それゆえ「自身への気づき」の過程を含む「マイノリティ共感」に焦点をあてた「性の多様性」授業の実施の必要性が示唆された。In this study, we used a retrospective method to explore the longitudinal effects of the "sexual and gender diversity" education on non-LGBTQ+ people, as well as mediating factors other than the education. As results, those who had never taken the education had an " Image of the sexual minority person as a heterogeneous presence," those who took the education for the first time in high school had a "Realistic image of sexual minority individuals," and those who had taken the education continuously through high school had a "Existence of realistic sexual minority individuals." The content of the education that the students remembered was mostly about "visualizing sexual minorities" and "becoming closer to LGBTQ+ people," which are part of the process of forming an attitude that accepts sexual diversity (Kasai and Odo, 2018), and there was little about "inter-minority empathy," which includes "self-awareness." In other words, the current "sexual and gender diversity" education have not led non-LGBTQ+ people to perceive LGBTQ+ people as "the same as themselves" as part of "sexual diversity," and therefore it is suggested that "sexual and gender diversity" education focusing on "inter-minority empathy," which includes the process of "self-awareness," are necessary.departmental bulletin pape

    本稿では中学校の国語問題集から読解問題教材を対象として分析を行なった.さらに,読みの過程についてや,国語科の授業について取りあげ,国語の読解において,日本語支援を必要とする生徒に対してどのような学習支援が必要であるかを述べた.そして,初期の日本語学習や初級レベルの日本語学習を終えたあとであっても,教科の学習に必要な日本語のレベルには大きな乖離があり,教科書の日本語を読むためには,日本語の中級,上級レベルの語彙や文法の学習・習得が必要であり,そのため,教科学習へとつなぐような日本語学習の確保が必要であることを述べたdepartmental bulletin pape

    A case study of perspective-based evaluation for the integration of instruction and evaluation in a unit on linear functions

    平成29年告示中学校学習指導要領の趣旨を踏まえた学習評価の実現と普及が必要である.そこで本研究の目的を「指導と評価の一体化を重視して単元指導と評価を実践し,観点別学習状況の評価の実施上の留意点と一般校での実施可能性について示唆を得ること」とし,中学校数学科第2学年の「C関数」領域において,「一次関数」単元の計画,観点別学習状況の評価の3つの観点についての評価問題等の作成,指導と評価の実施と記録,考察を行った.その結果,各観点に対して示唆が得られたとともに,学習指導と評価の過程を第1~3相で単純化して捉えることが,指導と評価を一体的に実践していく上で有効であった.他校での実施・検証,「一次関数」以外の単元での実施・検証,デジタル化を視野に入れた実施・検証が今後の課題として挙げられる.The purpose of this study was to practice unit instruction and evaluation with an emphasis on the integration of instruction and evaluation, and to obtain hints on the points to keep in mind when implementing the evaluation of learning by perspectives and on the possibility of implementing the evaluation in general schools.     Potential for Audience Participation in Concerts Using Experimental Musical Instruments: Case of a Concert at a Child Development Support and After-school Day Service Center

    This study investigates the possibility of a new form of participative concert based on the concept of “musicking.” It involves the active participation of the audience, interactions between musicians and the audience or between audience members, and the effect of an experimental musical instrument created by the author to stimulate interactions in the audience. The concept of musicking(Small 2011) focuses on how people interact with music and how they form social and cultural contexts by interacting with music, things, and one another. The author believes that this concept can help develop a new model of participative concerts(Kusaka et al.2023). The study examines a case in which the author and a pianist played “Mushi no Koe,” a collective song approved by the Ministry of Education, as well as Serori Haruhata’s arrangement “Mushi no Koe Hakurankai,” in a 45-minute concert held at a child development support and after school day facility in T city, Tokyo, on October 7, 2023. This case shows diverse musical expressions of the audience that were stimulated by interactions with music or with others. The use of the experimental musical instrument helped students express themselves in scenarios in musicians’ playing which musicians found it challenging to express their specific intentions through words and actions. The experimental musical instrument could be played by only two members of the audience at a time. Future research should consider ways to promote the dynamics and diversity of audience performances and enable simultaneous interaction between several members of the audience.departmental bulletin pape

    Vertical and Horizontal Collaboration in Special Needs Education at High schools: Through Career Development Support by Special Support Services in Resource

    本研究は,通級指導によるキャリア形成支援の実践を通して,高等学校での特別支援教育における縦横連携のあり方について検討することを目的とした。通級指導では,自閉スペクトラム症の生徒に対して,興味・関心や障害による困難さを把握しながらスモールステップで就労支援に取り組んだ。その結果,卒業後の進路先や社会生活へ円滑に移行するためには,同時期に多機関同士を繋げる横の連携の有効性が示唆された。また,連携会の取組では,ライフステージに応じて配慮すべき事項を時間軸でつなぐ縦の連携の有効性が示唆された。The purpose of this study was to examine the state of vertical and horizontal collaboration in special needs education at high schools through the practice of career development support at resource room. In the special support services in resource, employment support was provided to students with the autism spectrum disorder in small steps while understanding their interests and concerns and the difficulties caused by their disabilities. As a result, horizontal collaboration that connects multiple institutions at the same time was suggested to be effective in order to smoothly transition to career paths and social life after graduation. In addition, the efforts of the collaboration conference suggested the effectiveness of vertical collaboration that connects matters that should be considered according to life stages over a time axis.departmental bulletin pape
