Academic Supervision of Planning and Implementation of Arabic Language Learning
The Madrasah head is responsible for organizing and implementing supervision activities in an effort to improve and enhance the teacher-learning process. The study aims to determine academic supervision on Arabic language learning planning and implementation at MTsN 1 Makassar City. The research uses a descriptive method, and the qualitative approach uses Nvivo12. Results showed that the head of the madrasah and senior Arabic teachers work together to conduct academic supervision, which includes carrying out Arabic lesson planning supervision through direct supervision and indirectly, which is carried out through the Arabic MGMP forum. In addition, MTsN 1 Makassar City also invites education practitioners to help guide teachers. Then, in supervising the implementation of Arabic learning, the Head of Madrasah, in collaboration with the MGMP coordinator, conducts classroom visits to observe the administration and implementation of learning. In the course of learning, if teachers are found to have difficulties, they will be directed and assisted in the Arabic MGMP forum. Implication of research is the emphasis on the important role of madrasah principals in organizing and implementing supervision activities, strengthening collaboration between madrasah principals and senior Arabic teachers and focusing on supporting teachers who experience difficulties, both through direct direction and assistance in the Arabic MGMP forum
Islamic Law Meets Minangkabau Customs: Navigating Forbidden Marriages in Tanah Datar
Minangkabau community members in Tanah Datar have several prohibitions on marriage that must be obeyed and become standard rules because they contain sanctions of expulsion or ostracism. The prohibitions include marrying a cousin (father's sibling's child), marrying the ex-wife mamak (a man who is responsible for his children and nieces and nephews from the mother's side), and marrying the ex-wife's family. It indicates a contradiction between the provisions of Islamic law and customary law, which is very binding on the order of social life. The research aims to analyze the relationship between custom and Islamic law regarding the forbidden marriage that applies in Tanah Datar, which still maintains local culture and traditions. The method used empirical legal research with a socio-legal approach. Primary data was obtained using observation, interview, and documentation techniques, which were then analyzed using the maqashid sharia theory. The research showed that the Minangkabau community's prohibition on marriage in Tanah Datar is a customary rule that must be obeyed because it is a good habit ('urf) that aims to prevent damage to the social order in Minangkabau. Minangkabau society prioritizes the value of raso-pareso and friendly relationships between one person and another under the goals of marriage in Islamic law. These customary provisions are binding. If there is a violation, then customary sanctions are imposed in the form of exclusion, expulsion, and fines
Syncretism of Tahlilan Ritual in Islam and Consolation Worship in Protestant Christianity in the Slametan Tradition as a Reflection of Interfaith Harmony
The Tradition of tahlilan in Islam and consolation worship in Protestant Christianity serve as both social and spiritual rites to pray for the deceased and provide comfort to the bereaved family. This study aims to examine the syncretism of Javanese death rituals contained in tahlilan and consolation worship from the perspectives of Islam and Protestant Christianity within the selametan tradition. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing primary data sources and analyzing them through Arnold Van Gennep's anthropological theory, the rites of passage. The study's findings indicate that there is syncretism between the tahlilan ritual in Islam and the worship service of consolation in Protestant Christianity within the selametan tradition. Although there are theological differences, both rituals emphasize social and humanitarian aspects, offering empathy and solidarity to the bereaved family. Tahlilan reflects the Islamic belief in the importance of prayer for the soul of the deceased, while the worship service of consolation provides spiritual support and assurance of resurrection in Christianity. This syncretism demonstrates the openness of religious rituals to adapt, creating interfaith harmony and combining religious practices with the local Javanese culture
Exploring teachers’ corrective feedback in EFL classrooms: Pre-service teachers’ reflections
Despite the growing body of research on corrective feedback in foreign language learning, there remains a gap in understanding the specific strategies utilized by EFL teachers as observed by pre-service teachers firsthand. Based on the observed experiences of EFL pre-service teachers during their observational field teaching practice, this study aims to analyze how English teachers give their corrective feedback. This study employed a qualitative research approach with a case study design. Eleven Indonesian EFL pre-service teachers who had finished their field teaching practice were involved in the study. The qualitative data were gathered using reflective Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and semi-structured interviews. The result of qualitative data analysis revealed three emerging themes of teachers’ corrective feedback: explicit correction, recasting, and metalinguistic. The findings showed that teachers regularly use direct corrective feedback in their instructional context. These insights enable foreign language educators to choose appropriate feedback strategies based on learners’ needs, enhancing teaching practices, learner outcomes, and teacher training programs
Incorporating local content stories into innovative e-book development for high school students in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia
Many studies have shown the enhancement of student engagement by integrating local content into digital learning resources. However, little is known about the interactively and culturally relevant materials in incorporating customizable and engaging content for students. The present study aims to develop an e-book focusing on narrative texts that incorporate local content stories for high school students in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. This research and development study utilized the ADDIE model and TPACK framework. The research involved 35 students in the eleventh grade at the senior high school. It also involved three English teachers and three external validators. Data were garnered through questionnaires, observations and interviews. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis, and qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results show that expert validation indicated high-quality media presentation and local content integration. In addition, students’ feedback revealed a remarkable attractiveness, suggesting that the e-book significantly enhances educational outcomes. These findings demonstrate the efficacy of the ADDIE model and TPACK framework in creating relevant learning experiences. The study underscores the importance of integrating local content in digital educational tools, offering broad implications for curriculum development and the creation of engaging culturally relevant educational materials
Development of Sensory Mat Learning Media to Train Motor Skills at TK IT Kautsar Ilmi Tanjung Raja
This study was motivated by the ability of motor movement in IT Kautsar Ilmi Kindergarten Tanjung Raja, Ogan Ilir Regency, which has not developed optimally. This is due to the limited learning media used by teachers, so that children are less interested and do not get direct experience in learning. This study aims to develop a valid and practical Sensory Mat media to train motor skills in the kindergarten. The research method uses Research and Development with the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were group B at IT Kautsar Ilmi Tanjung Raja Kindergarten, with an initial trial in the Ar-Rahman class of 10 students and the main trial involving the entire group B of 19 students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and interviews, then analyzed using validity and practicality tests with a Likert scale. The validation results showed that the material expert's score was 80 with a very valid category and the media expert was 96.67 with a very valid category. Practicality test based on teacher questionnaire reached 100 with a very practical category. Students' responses showed a value of 75.68 declared practical in the initial trial and 92.35 declared very practical in the main trial. This study concludes that Sensory Mat media is effective, valid, and practical for training children's motor skills at IT Kautsar Ilmi Tanjung Raja Kindergarten
The Implementation of “Wattpad Application” Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension
This research presented the Effect of Reading Wattpad Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension at Second Grade of MAS. Nurul Yaqin Dawi-Dawi. The design of this research was a quasi-experiment by using a non-equivalent control group design. The variable of this research consisted of two variables, they were Wattpad as the independent variable and the students’ reading comprehension as the dependent variable. The sample of this research were the second grade students of IPA 1 and IPA 2 of MAS. Nurul Yaqin Dawi-Dawi. There were 28 students in IPA 1, and there were 29 students in IPA 1. The instrument of this research was the pre-test and post-test. Data collection techniques in this research were giving pre-test and post-test. It was found out that there was an Effect of Reading Wattpad Toward Students’ Reading Comprehension at Second Grade of MAS. Nurul Yaqin Dawi-Dawi. It could be seen from the mean score of post-test (84,11), it was higher than the mean score of pre-test (79,48). The result showed that T-test > T-table (7,117 > 2,052). The alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. The N-Gain score of experimental class had the mean (33,2316) < 40%. It means that the Wattpad application was not effective to be used in the learning process in the class
Pengaruh Model Guided Inquiry Disertai Socioscientific Issues Terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa
AbstrakPenggunaan model pembelajaran yang tepat dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Salah satunya adalah model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa SMAN 1 Samalantan. Sampel penelitan yaitu siswa kelas X IPA 1 dan IPA 2 sejumlah 60 siswa. Instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan diuji validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran dan daya pembeda sebelum digunakan. Data diperoleh dari hasil pretest dan posttest. Uji paired sample t-test digunakan sebagai uji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 melalui aplikasi SPSS. Hasil uji hipotesis terhadap data pretest dan posttest menggunakan uji paired-sample t-test diperoleh nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,001 dimana nilai ini kurang dari 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Artinya penerapan model guided inquiry disertai socioscientific issues terbukti berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan/iklim dan daur ulang limbah
Efek Hipoglikemia Formula Herbal Antidiabetes Pada Tikus Diabetes Yang Diinduksi Alloxan
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efek hipoglikemia formula herbal antidiabetes secara in vivo. Herbal yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu simplisia daun kencana wungu, kayu secang, kayu manis, dan daun jati cina, dengan formula rasio yang digunakan 5:2:2:1 (F5221) dan rasio 3:3:2:2 (F3322). Sebanyak 12 tikus betina strain wistar dikelompokkan menjadi empat kelompok dengan jumlah masing-masing kelompok 3 ekor tikus. Kelompok perlakuan antara lain tikus normal, tikus diabetes mellitus (DMT2), tikus DMT2+ F3322, dan tikus DMT2+F5221. Tikus model diabetes mellitus diinduksi dengan menginjeksikan 175 mg/Kg BB alloxan secara subkutan dan melakukan observasi kadar glukosa darah 3 – 6 hari setelah injeksi. Selanjutnya tikus model diabetes diberikan formula herbal F3322 dan F5221 2x sehari selama 14 hari, dan dilakukan pengamatan kadar glukosa darah untuk mengamati efek hipoglikemia serta berat badan. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan injeksi alloxan 175 mg/kg BB pada tikus model strain wistar meningkatkan kadar glukosa darah hingga lebih dari 200 mg/dl. Pemberian formula herbal 2x sehari pada hari ketujuh setelah perlakuan menunjukkan penurunan berat badan yang berbeda nyata (p<0.05), demikian juga pada hari ke – 14 setelah perlakuan. Namun, pemberian formula herbal baik F3322 dan F5221 menormalkan kadar gula darah tikus model dari 415 – 445 mg/dl menjadi 155 – 157 mg/dl. Penurunan kadar glukosa pada tikus model disebabkan oleh kandungan daun kencana wungu, kayu secang, dan kayu manis yang memiliki efek hipoglikemia. Sedangkan daun jati cina berpotensi sebagai antidiabetes melalui efek hypolipidemia yang ditandai dengan penurunan berat badan tikus. Penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa pemberian formula F5221 selama 2x sehari dalam 14 hari menurunkan kadar glukosa dan berat badan dan berpotensi sebagai kandidat obat herbal antidiabetes mellitus
Implementasi Kegiatan Keagamaan Dalam Membentuk Akhlak siswa Di Madrasah Aliyah
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kegaiatan keagamaan dalam membentuk akhlak siswa, untuk mendeskripsikan akhlak siswa di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Banjarnegara, dan menganalisis Implementasi Kegiatan Keagamaan Dalam Membentuk Akhlak siswa di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Banjarnegara. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun teknik yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : Kegiatan keagamaan di MAN 1 Banjarnegara dalam membentuk akhlak siswa diantaranya : 1) Shalat Dhuha Berjamaah, 2) Tadarus Al-quran dan Membaca Asmaul Husna, Pengajian Akbar 4) Keputrian. Akhlak yang dimiliki siswa di MAN 1 Banjarnegara sopan, ramah, namun masih ada sebagian siswa yang melakukan pelanggaran terhadap peraturan yang telah ditapkan di madrasah. Akhlak yang ditanamkan pada diri siswa di lingkungan madrasah yaitu berangkat ke madrasah tepat waktu, berbicara sopan kepada guru, mengikuti peraturan madrasah, menyapa ketika bertemu di lingkungan madrasah maupun luar madrasah. Impelementasi Kegiatan Keagamaan yang di lakukan di luar kelas supaya siswa dapat mengamalkan ajaran agama yang diperoleh di MAN 1 Banjarnegara dirinci dalam dua faktor diantaranya : kegiatan Keagamaan Di MAN 1 Banjarnegara mempunyai kegiatan keagamaan yang dilakukan untuk membentuk akhlak siswa. Kegiatan-kegiatan keagamaan yang dilakukan diantaranya : 1) Shalat Dhuha berjamaah, 2) Tadarus Al-quran dan Membaca Asmaul Husna, 3) Pengajian Akbar 4) Keputrian. Selanjutnya Metode Pembentukan Akhlak. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam membentuk akhlak diantaranya adalah: 1) Metode Keteladanan, 2) Metode Pembiasaan, 3) Metode Nasehat, 4) Metode Hukuman
