English and British History ―Trusts（trust systems）and Grammar Schools（Education in Bookkeeping and Accounting）―

英語と他のヨーロッパ言語（フランス語，ドイツ語，スペイン語など）と比較した場合，英語には品詞に性別がない，時制が単純である，接続法がないなどが指摘される．しかし，際立った特徴として，英語には他の諸言語との交雑の中で取込まれた語彙が累々と積み上がったことから，結果としてヨーロッパ言語の中で単語数が圧倒的に多くなっている．その積み上がりは，激動した英国の歴史に原因がある．英国の歴史を時代順に辿っていくと，先住民，ケルト民族移住，ローマ帝国による征服，アングロ・サクソン民族の移住，バイキングの侵略，フランスのノルマンディー公のイングランド征服，フランスとの長期にわたる抗争，イングランド王位のスコットランド国王への禅譲，イングランド・オランダの同君連合，イギリス王位の北ドイツ・ハノーヴァー候家への継承（ハノーヴァー王朝），19 世紀ヴィクトリア女王の時代から現代，とに分かれる．こうしたダイナミックな歴史が言語の交雑をもたらし，その結果として現代の英語形成に繋がっている．本稿では上記順を追って，現在国際用語となっているユニークな言語である英語と英国の歴史についてその関わりを追うことにした．特にトラスト（信託制度）とグラマー・スクール（簿記会計教育）などのトピクスを織り交ぜて検証したものである．When comparing English with other European languages （such as French, German and Spanish）, it is pointed out that English has no gender in parts of speech, a simple tense system, and no subjunctive mood. However, as a striking feature, clearly that the vocabulary that has been accumulated through the assimilation of other languages has resulted in an overwhelmingly large number of words compared to other languages. This accumulation is due to the turbulent history of the United Kingdom. If you follow the history of Britain in chronological order, you will see that it is divided into the following periods: the migration of the Celtic people, the conquest by the Roman Empire, the migration of the Anglo-Saxon people, the Viking invasions, the conquest of England by the Norman dukes of France, the long-running conflict with France, the abdication of the England throne to the King of Scotland, the union of the England and the Netherlands, the succession of the British throne to the House of Hanover（ the Hanoverian dynasty of Great Britain（ 1714-present）, the 19 thcentury reign of Queen Victoria, and the modern era. This dynamic history has led to the intermingling of languages, and as a result, has contributed to the formation of modern English. In this paper, we have followed the above order to trace the relationship between the history of the English language, which is a unique language that is now an international term, and the history of the United Kingdom. In particular, we have examined topics such as trusts（ trust systems） and grammar schools（bookkeeping and accounting education）.departmental bulletin pape
