Interethnic peace, Security and Genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina
In the case of Bosnian War (1992-1995), International Participation has just maintained interethnic peace with limited success. Peace-keeping strategies implemented without consensus subsequently set up an environment in which ethnic cleansings transformed into genocide in UN “ Safe Areas”. According to World Bank’s reports; following the end of military conflict late 1995, of a pre-war population of 4.4 million, an estimated 250,000 people had lost their lives or were considered missing, 200,000 to 400,000 people had been wounded, and an estimated 2.5 million people, more than half the population, either left the country as refugees or were internally displaced (The World Bank Report, 2004). Despite what has happened during the turmoil, the worst happened in Srebrenica as one of UN Security Zone which was protected by Dutch soldiers. Still it is unknown how many people had lost their lives in Srebrenica. According to Human Right Watch Reports, ethnic cleansing in Bosnia was systematically planned and implemented by Serbian irregulars. In this article, it is aimed to illustrate the negative effects of dissolving interethnic peace in Bosnia. The case of Bosnian interethnic war has been examined from security matter to genocide

Finding shortest path in static networks: using a modified algorithm
This paper considers the problem of finding the shortest path in a static network, where the costs are constant. The CE Algorithm based strategy that is presented by Rubinstein to solving rare event and combinatorial optimization problem is modified to finding shortest path in this research. To analyze the efficiency of the used algorithm three sets of small, medium and large sized problems that generated randomly are solved. The results on the set of problems show that the modified algorithm produces good solutions and time saving in computation of large-scale network
Relationship between emotional intelligence and innovative work behaviors in Turkish banking sector
Nowadays, almost all sectors especially service ones are aware of the fact that the presence of employees who have high level of emotional intelligence and innovative work behaviors is crucial so as to perform efficiently and productively. Since customer satisfaction and customer loyalty are the main primacy for the banking sector, they need to keep up with all kinds of changes and developments to resist and gain advantages over their competitors subject to the highly increase of competition worldwide. The main reason of applying this study on the banking sector is its dynamic structure that has been changed both positively and negatively owing to the economic crisis. In connection with this, it is aimed to present the importance of emotional intelligence and innovative work behaviors on the success of banking sector through the analysis of two variables in terms of their relationship between each other. Additionally, it is intended for setting forth the differences of state-owned and private banks in terms of the level of emotional intelligence and innovative work behaviors. As a data collection tool, questionnaire technique has been used. It has been benefited from the emotional intelligence scale developed by Wong and Law to obtain the data related to emotional intelligence level; and the innovative work behaviors scale developed by Janssen to obtain the data related to innovative work behaviors. The findings obtained from the questionnaire were applied to 332 employees in Turkish banking sector
Visual discourse of the clove: An analysis on the Ottoman tile decoration art
In tile art, one of the world-famous Turkish Handicrafts, a wide variety of patterns are used on tile objects. The most common of these, after the tulip pattern, is the naturalist clove pattern. Different meanings were assigned to this pattern within the boundaries of form, color and design. Identification and perception of these meanings have a special place within the frame of the culture that they relay. In this present study the fields of meaning of the clove pattern frequently used in tile decoration arts among Turkish handicrafts were tried to be determined. By taking Greimas' Actantial Model as the theoretical model, in the study visual discourse analysis of the clove pattern will be made
Innovative strategies devised by Indian microfinance institutions to achieve cost efficiency
This study is a discussion on the ‘Non-Governmental Organization-Microfinance Institution Partnership Model’ and ‘Securitization Model’ used by Indian microfinance institutions to achieve cost efficiency. These two models are effective strategies devised and used by efficient and sustainable Indian MFIs to reduce their operating cost and financing cost. Achieving such cost efficiency is crucial for microfinance institutions to attain operational self-sustainability without levying high interest rates. Using interview method the study elicits information on these innovative strategies and recommends them to be worthy of emulation for other microfinance institutions operating in the Indian microfinance industry
The study and prioritization of job satisfaction dimensions in Zanjan-based Refah Bank employees
Theories associated with job satisfaction are based on the principle that all environmental elements could shape entire career satisfaction. In literature, major studies illustrate that positive and negative emotions are largely associated with job satisfaction. Job satisfaction source is not only job position but also other factors such as the physical and social work environment, relationships with supervisors and colleagues, group culture and management style of the managers. In this study a field research was applied with a survey study. To testify the hypothesis, the Pearson parametric and Friedman test was conducted. The major findings of this study are (i) there is a negative correlation exists between level of education and nature of the job (ii) job promotion and payment, (iii) there is not any significant differences in job satisfaction between men and women
State based factors affecting inward FDI employment in the U.S. Economy
This empirical research investigates state based factors affecting the inward FDI employment among fifty states of the United States, uses annual data for the period of time from 1997 to 2007 and identifies several state-specific determinants of FDI employment.
