Solution of Cubic Equations with Combination of Continued Fractions

    No full text
Solution of cubic and higher degree equations has always engaged attention of mathematicians from ancient times. Different approaches have been adopted to solve cubic equation; some transformed this equation to depressed form, some eliminated all the coefficients of this equation except cubic and constant term. By and large, all solutions seem tedious and require constant concentration in their derivation. With the purpose of finding a solution which is easily doable, use of combined two continued fractions has been adopted and this has given inspiring results.

Effects of Father’s Absence on Socialization & Personality Development of Children

    No full text
For years researchers had concentrated on the mother’s role in child rearing practices. Much past psychological research upto the 70’s was devoted to investigating the mother’s role. As a result until the first half of the 20th century there was not much literature on the father’s role in socialization of children. The sudden interest in the importance of fathers can be attributed to major social changes which acquired in the 20th century. One major reason for the interest is fathering may be attributed to the women’s movement which stimulated re-evaluation of the existing concepts about roles of men and women. The present study was undertaken to find out the effect of fathers absence on socialization and personality development of children. Another major objective of the study was to find out the difference in personality development of children of father absent families of states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Belonging impacts identity which is derived from one’s ancestry and the society one lives in which is denied to orphans culminating in an Identity Crisis.Resolving this crisis involves a Quest that orphans get involved in.The aim of this research has been to:To highlight the plight of this invisible micro-minority, to give them a focus, a voice and recognition is the aim of this research. To observe, establish, determine, verify, apply and present the findings to the world of literature and society. This has been done through Research, Review of Literature, the use of Psychoanalysis in the works of Erikson, Franken, June Dwyer, Jules Chametzky, Daniel Fischer, Ostendorf etc. through records, Interviews, Case Histories and Surveys

Growth of Research Productivity of the University of Mysore: A Scientometric Study

    No full text
The present study aims to identify the research productivity of University of Mysore during 1989 to 2018. The study also tried to retrieve the information regarding the total number of citations, h-index, average citation per article of the faculty members of University of Mysore using Web of Science. In order to get the research output of the university, the search terms ‘University of Mysore’ is entered in the search box of the “Web of Science”. The result of the study shows that 4838 records of the University of Mysore have been included in the Web of Science database, out of which, majority 91.28% of the records are research articles. The study identified that among the faculty members of University of Mysore, Rangappa has received highest number of citations (4027), followed by Yathirajan has received 2425 citations. In this context, the study recommends that the faculty members of the both universities need to publish their research articles in peer reviewed journals with high Impact Factor.

Changing Role of Library Professionals and Need of Skill Development in Digital Environment

The earlier meaning of traditional library from document preservation to knowledge management has been changed due to rapid progress in information and communication technology (ICT), primarily the internet and the web has made important change in the field of information. ICT has impacted library service, preservation and conservation of learning resources and more emphasis on digitalization of learning resources.Present libraries are playing role as information centre where maximum learning resources are available in digital format and online to users. The librarians are facing new challenging because of unprecedented explosion of information and its availability in different form. The cope with these problems, the modern librarianship needs to be changed their attitude and practice from custodian of document to information provider, information analyst, information creator etc. There has been a paradigm shift in the way of traditional libraries from manage as traditional store house to access providers. The present digital environment has brought a lot of changes in library and information services and role and responsibilities of the library professionals to satisfy their users’ information nee

Ethical Leadership in Industrial Revolution 4.0 Requirements for Developing Ethical Leaderships in Vietnam

Facing on the increasing challenges and demands of practice are higher and higher, it gives the leader more qualities. One of the recent theoretical issues that many scholars care about is ethical leadership, especially the impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 that not only follows the traditional leadership styles but value, quality is universal like respect, service, fairness, honesty, responsibility, for the community,.. increasingly asserted as one of the essential foundations to help the visionary creator and influence those visions into the employees’ actions. With that meaning, ethical leadership becomes the motto of the spirit of service leadership, especially for Vietnam, a country with strong transformation from a planned economy to the socialist-oriented market economy, leadership values need to be adjusted, supplemented and developed to keep up with the requirements of the industrial revolution 4.0

Comparative Assessment of Physiochemical Properties of Locally Made Zobo from Three Markets in Delta State, Nigeria

    No full text
Zobo drink is a non-alcoholic locally produced beverage that is widely consumed by many people due to its nutritional and medicinal values. The study was carried out in order to compare and assess the measured values of electrical properties of zobo drink with change in temperature and also to investigate its mineral compositions. Three samples of zobo drink obtained from Warri, Ughelli and Sapele in Delta State of Nigeria were locally prepared and analysed for electrical conductivity and pH at a temperature range of 0 to 60 oC at 5 oC interval. Measurements of electrical conductivity of the zobo sample were made in millipascal second by means of AZ Conductivity meter, model 8361, manufactured in USA, while measurements were also made of pH by means of pH/mV meter, Cole Parmer model 60061, Vernon Hills, Illinois. The results obtained were statistically analyzed after triplicate sampling and their mean values and standard deviation presented. The results obtained show that the average electrical conductivity values of the zobo samples varied from 5200 to 7210 µS/cm, with an average of 6260 µS/cm within the temperature range. The pH values of the zobo samples varied from 2.85 to 4.81. Extract of this drink shows high concentration of potassium and calcium with values above 100 mg/L, while concentration of other heavy metals were absent in Ughelli and Sapele, with trace amount of this component recorded in Warri.   The high observed acid level of the drink will inhabit the growth of some microorganisms that are not tolerant to it, but might pose a danger if consumed at further higher temperature above 30oC

Application of Aboodh Transform to the Solution of Stochastic Differential Equation

    No full text
The solutions to differential equations (DEs) with emphasis on the stochastic differential equation (SDE) are achieved by implementing a new integral transform, namely, Aboodh transform, and the transformation method and properties on the given DE. In this work, we found the particular solution of the SDE on specified initial conditions. Furthermore, this solution is used to discuss the equilibrium price and growth rate of asset

HRM in Libraries: Issues and Challenges in the Indian Perspective

    No full text
Human resources are the most essential and important asset of any organization including libraries. Library human resources perform various important and technical functions to achieve the targeted goals of the libraries they are working in. Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a crucial role in the strategic planning and execution in order to make a decisive impact on the organization’s overall performance. Hence, proper management and administration of human resources in libraries is extremely essential in the present digital era like other business and ICT sectors. The present paper discusses the concept, objectives, characteristics, and functions of HRM and the various issues and challenges faced by the librarians in the proper management of human resources in the libraries the world over in general and in India in particular.
