わが国における大学進学移動の動向と変化

論文(Article)本稿では、1971年から2000年の間における大都市圏と地方圏での大学進学移動を比較検討した。その結果、(1)1990年代以降、地方圏を中心に大学が急増していること、(2)しかし依然として地方圏では進学者に対する大学入学定員が不足しており、しかもその状況は10年以上改善されていないこと、(3)とはいえ、地方圏でも学生の地元度は決して高くなく、地方圏にあっても県外からの流入が相当数見られること、(4)大都市圏に全国から学生が流入するのはその受け皿の大きさゆえんであり、そうした規模の影響を除いた指向性については、地方圏でもむしろ近隣県との結びつきが強いこと、などが明らかになった。　In this paper, the authors compared the patterns of entrant migration between the ones from the metropolitan areas and those from the non-metropolitan areas since 1971 and the following points were revealed. First, the number of universities increased rapidly in the 1990s, especially in the non-metropolitan areas. Second, the capacity of the universities in the non-metropolitan areas is still not enough for the number of local students who go on to universities. This imbalance has not changed for the past ten years or more. Third, in the non-metropolitan areas, the rate of local high-school graduates among the university entrants in each prefecture is not necessarily high. Most of those prefectures have a lot of students from another prefectures. Finally, it can be assume that large capacity of universities located in the metropolitan has strong influence on attracting entrants. But once the influence of the capacity was eliminated in order to argue directivity between prefectures, in the most of non-metropolitan areas the connection with neighboring prefectures were more conspicuous than the one with the metropolitan areas.departmental bulletin pape

グロウヴリィの森 : その歴史的諸相

論文(Article)本稿は、イングランド南西部のウィルトシャにあるグロウヴリィの森の歴史的諸相をさぐろうとするものである。『ドゥームズデイ・ブック』は、1086年までには、未発達ながらフォレスト行政が存在していたことを示しており、また、ヘンリー三世治世の封緘特許状は、国王によるこの森の活用の実態を伝えている。枯木を採取する権利は、かつて、人々の権利として慣習法によって守られていた。だが、こうした慣習も、17世紀後半及び18世紀に、法的制裁が増加するにつれて犯罪へと移行していった。木材採取人は、ますます盗木人の烙印を押されるようになったのである。ウィルトシャのグレイト・ウィッシュフォードでは、慣習は守られ、毎年、再確認されている。　The purpose of this paper is to clarify some historical aspects of Grovely Forest in Wiltshire. Domesday Book shows that the forest administration was in existence by 1086, at least in embryonic form. The Close Rolls, particularly for the reign of Henry III (1216-72), tell the story of the Crown's exploitation of the Forest. The taking of dead wood was anciently a popular right, protected by customary law. The transition from custom to crime occurred in the late-seventeenth and eighteenth centuries as the wood-gatherer faced increased legal sanctions, and was more regularly stigmatised as wood-stealer. In Wiltshire at Great Wishford a successful defence of custom was made, which continues to be reaffirmed each year on May 29th.departmental bulletin pape
