With the development of the internet and information technology, cross-border online shopping has become a new consumption norm for Chinese residents. Logistics, as the pillar of crossborder online shopping, has attracted close attention from practitioners and researchers because it not only influences customer shopping experience, but it also influences customer confidence level in cross-border online shopping. Previous studies have shown that Chinese cross-border logistics suffer from problems such as low satisfaction levels, high transportation costs, and long delivery times. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the level of customer satisfaction in cross-border logistics in China and investigate the factors that lead to customer satisfaction in cross-border logistics. This study used a quantitative method approach to conduct a questionnaire survey of 458 customers residents in southwest China. The data were then analysed by mean value, correlation, and regression through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 on the level of customer satisfaction. The findings showed that the customer satisfaction level of cross-border logistics in China is at a moderate level, with transportation cost, delivery time, return and exchange, information tracking, and staff service quality having a significant positive relationship with customer satisfaction of the cross-border logistics. The findings of the study enable this researcher to make some suggestions on how to effectively manage cross-border logistics to improve customer satisfaction in cross-border logistics. Therefore, logistics managers should reduce consumer transportation costs, reduce delivery time, simplify the return and exchange process, and provide convenient and reliable information tracking and high-quality staff service quality to improve cross-border logistics customer satisfaction

Functional foods provide nutrients, prevent nutrition-related diseases and enhance physical and mental well-being. However, people in Pakistan face many nutritionrelated diseases. This study investigates the impact of procurement goals, (i.e., health, mood, convenience, sensory appeal, natural content, weight control, familiarity, price, and ethical concerns), approval goals, consumer attitudes, consumer subjective norms, consumer perceived behavioral control, consumer intentions and consumer behaviour towards functional foods. In addition, this study also investigates the moderating role of nutritional information between consumer intentions and behavior towards functional foods. A quantitative approach was used for the study, where data was collected through a questionnaire from 384 respondents in Pakistan through convenience sampling. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) revealed a significant impact of procurement goals (i.e., health, familiarity, and price) on consumer attitude and between approval goals on consumer subjective norms. Moreover, consumer attitude and consumer subjective norms significantly influence consumer intention. Subsequently, consumer intention affects consumer behaviorntowards functional foods. However, insignificant relationships were found between procurement goals (i.e., mood, convenience, sensory appeal, natural content, weight control, ethical concerns) and consumer attitudes and between consumer-perceived behavioral control and consumer intention. In addition, nutritional information does not moderate the relationship between consumer intention and consumer behaviour toward functional foods. In terms of theoretical implications, this study applied the theory of reasoned goal pursuit (TRGP) with the addition of nutritional information derived from the heuristic system model in a single framework to assess consumer intentions and consumer behavior towards functional foods, as well as the moderating role of nutritional information in the Pakistan context. Marketing managers should emphasize the importance of procurement and approval goals as well as aspects of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in formulating effective strategies for the meaningful consumption of functional foods to address nutritional deficiencies and cure diseases

The performance of civil servants is one of the most important issues to be discussed, since it may affects the image of the government and its overall management efficiency. In Indonesia, the quality of service and work performance of its civil servants in recent years have not shown satisfactory results. This has led to unsatisfactory government performance in the public service sector. Efforts to improve civil servants’ performance depend on the government's ability to identify and leverage the various forms of motivation that drive civil servants’ performance. One of the internal factor that may be able to improve civil servants’ performance is public service motivation. The main objective of this study is to examine the intrinsic and extrinsic dimensions that correlate with the public service motivation among civil servants in Jakarta. This study surveyed 951 civil servants from three different agencies with the highest income in Jakarta, namely the DKI Provincial Government Jakarta, The Directorate General of Taxes, and The Directorate General of Immigration. The informants interviewed were officers who are competent and have knowledge on the human resources issues and the implementation of public services in each respective agencies. The results of data analysis using both the quantitative and qualitative approaches showed a significant difference in the level of public service motivation among civil servants in Jakarta. Furthermore this study found that the use of prerequisite questions about the fulfillment of basic needs before answering the public service motivation questions can provide a more valid result when measuring the level of public service motivation. This study also discovered a significant correlation between attraction to public policy making, commitment to public interest and civic duty, compassion, and self-sacrifice dimensions, with the level of public service motivation among civil servants in Jakarta. The study also revealed a significant relationship between the belief in a just world dimension and the level of public service motivation. Therefore, this dimension is suitable to be applied as an additional measure on the level of public service motivation among civil servants in Indonesia. The finding also reveals that there are only four dimensions of job characteristics that have a significant correlation to public service motivation

Traffic accidents are a worldwide tragedy with an ever-rising trend. The main intention of this paper is to examine the relationship between the attitude of the rider, peer pressure and exposure towards action movies with risky motorcyclists’ behaviour. Researchers can see the trend of fatalities and injuries due to traffic accidents is increasing day by day. In 2022 itself, there were a sum of 545,588 traffic accidents reported and a total of 6,080 deaths. An average of 1,494 accidents per day or an accident per minute in Malaysia. Previous research has primarily relied on cross-sectional data and thus focused on several groups of respondents, such as young motorcyclists. This study focused on all the types of motorcyclists. A total of 166 respondents were collected from a questionnaire that was randomly distributed. Data was analyzed using SPSS software using correlation and multiple regression methods to identify the relationship between the variables. From the findings, researchers can conclude that the attitude of the rider and peer pressure have a significant association with risky motorcyclists’ behaviour, whereas exposure toward action movies does not show significant relationships with the risky motorcyclists’ behaviour. Therefore, this study will help optimize the work of authorities by systematically identifying the causes of risky motorcyclists’ behaviour and developing relevant ideas to address this issue

Talak luar mahkamah dalam undang-undang keluarga di Malaysia

Talaq out-of-court is classified as matrimonial offence based on Section 57 of the Islamic Family Law (Kedah Darul Aman) Enactment 2008.While Section 124 of the same enactment provides the penalty for talaq pronounced out-of-court. However, the control methods for this offence are inadequate, and law enforcement is still ineffective in the state of Kedah. Conversely, in states such as Kelantan, Penang and Sabah, the control methods and enforcement are more stringent for the same offence. This study aims to examine the concept of syariah law related to the method of pronouncing divorce, examine the provisions of the law related to the procedure and punishment of out-of-court divorce, analyse the judgment of out-of-court divorce cases decided in Malaysia and propose a comprehensive legal framework for divorce. The research method used is socio-legal where the researcher carried out field study in addition to examining the text of legal cases and law enforcement in courts. This study, which is qualitative in nature, also conducted interviews with respondents, particularly in Kedah, Kelantan, Penang and Sabah. The study found that the driving factors for the husband's action of pronouncing talaq outside the Court is uncontrollable ego and anger, as well as a lack of understanding of the law and Islamic education. To deal with this problem comprehensively, this study proposes the repeal of Section 57 of the Islamic Family Law (Kedah Darul Aman) Enactment 2008. The repeal is imperative to protect women's rights by controlling out-of-court talaq from occurring widely. The study also suggests the implementation and effectiveness of case control by creating integrated cooperation between the Syariah Court, Prosecution Division, Enforcement Division and Marriage, Divorce and Referral Division (Nikah, Cerai dan Rujuk) (NCR) in the Kedah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAIK). Confirmation of out-of-court talaq cases starts from the stages of investigation, prosecution, penalties imposed, payment of punishment until the Court confirms the talaq. Besides, the Syariah Court’s jurisdiction in substantive law needs to be modified as this study found that most outof- court talaq cases in 2021 involve new methods such as talaq through cyberspace and the application of technology tools. The study's findings imply that Malaysia can create a comprehensive talaq legal framework

User acceptance towards new e-filing system’s interface among employment income taxpayers in Malaysia

    Get PDF
E-Filing evolution began in 2004 and has brought new enhancements year after year in order to keep up with technological advancement. The evolution of e-Filing should be in line with user acceptance in terms of perceived ease of use (PEU), perceived usefulness (PU), service quality (SQ), and system security (SS). The relationship between PEU, PU, SQ SS, and the intention to use (ITU) the new e-Filing system interface determines the level of acceptance among Malaysian employment income taxpayers. The interface of the new e-Filing system was designed in accordance with the current technology standards. It is due to the changes made to the user interface and user experience (UIUX). The UIUX is intended to capture the attention of the user while interacting with a digital platform. Consequently, the new e-Filing system's interface has to be simpler, rational, and more enjoyable to use. In this study, three research objectives are outlined for further examination. 184 respondents from the employment income group who filed their income tax returns electronically were chosen as a sample. For objectives one and two, quantitative analysis was used. Meanwhile, for the third objective, qualitative analysis was used. Furthermore, multiple regression methods were used in the empirical analysis of variables' relationships. TAM was used as the foundational theory in this study. This research discusses the relevant literatures on the use of the new e-Filing system's interface in order to gain a better understanding. Empirical analysis revealed a positive relationship between PEU, PU, SQ, and SS and the intention to use the new e-Filing system' interface. SS is the highest element influences the users to use the new e-Filing interface. Asresult, the government must improve its effectiveness in order to ensure the system's long-term viability
