Dynamic acetabular cup orientation in fast and slow walking total hip replacement patients: raw motion data, processed cup angles and statistical analyses.

    No full text
This dataset includes the input, raw output and processes data from a study investigating the orientation of the total hip replacement acetabular cup when implanted in the pelvis and during walking gait. The associated project aimed to understand the variation in cup orientation during gait compared to its orientation within the pelvic bone on implantation. This work is motivated by the refinement of testing protocol for total hip replacement devices and the understanding of the implications of cup implantation position during surgery. Movement data are used from two sub-groups of patients, with faster and slower self-selected walking speeds post total hip replacement. And the statistical analysis looks for any differences between in the groups in terms of dynamic orientation of the acetabular cup. Correlation analysis is also included, which illustrates the relationship between pelvic orientation measurements and acetabular cup orientations. That provide information on which aspects of dynamic cup orientation can be predicted simply from single pelvic angles and which are a more complex combination of multiple angular orientations. The data itself includes tabulated measurements from every stage of the analysis from the pelvic orientation angles, through the cup angles, to the high-level statistical outcomes

Modelling and breaking down the biophysical barriers to drug delivery in pancreatic cancer

    No full text
The dataset are of raw images and collated data. The raw images are of subsequent assessment of the microfluidic PDAC cultures using a bright-field, epi-fluorescence, and confocal microscopy. The collated data are of the viability assessments, immunofluorescence assessmetns, of the microfluidic PDAC cultures following treatment with gemcitabine and losartan, and of the interstitial flow assessments

The computed energy profile of the angular Jahn-Teller distortion that is often shown by high-spin [Fe(bppR)2]2+ (bppR = a 4-substituted-2,6-di(pyrazolyl)pyridine) derivatives depends on the nature of the ligand substituents

River Augmented Global Landslide Dams (RAGLAD)

    No full text
To address the current data and understanding knowledge gap in landslide dam inventories related to geomorphological parameters, a new global-scale landslide dam dataset named River Augmented Global Landslide Dams (RAGLAD) was created. RAGLAD is a collection of landslide dam records from multiple data sources published in various languages and many of these records we have been able to precisely geolocate. In total, 779 landslide dam records were compiled from 34 countries/regions. The spatial distribution, time trend, triggers, and geomorphological characteristic of the landslides and catchments where landslide dams formed are summarized. The relationships between geomorphological characteristics for landslides that form river dams are discussed and compared with those of landslides more generally. Additionally, a potential threshold for landslide dam formation is proposed, based on the relationship of landslide volume to river width. Our findings from our analysis of the value of the use of additional fluvial datasets to augment the database parameters indicate that they can be applied as a reliable supplemental data source, when the landslide dam records were accurately and precisely geolocated, although location precision in smaller river catchment areas can result in some uncertainty at this scale. This newly collected and supplemented dataset will allow the analysis and development of new relationships between landslides located near rivers and their actual propensity to block those particular rivers based on their geomorphology

Dataset associated with Terahertz microscopy using Laser Feedback Interferometry based on a Generalised Phase-stepping Algorithm

    No full text
This dataset relates to data presented in the work "Terahertz microscopy using Laser Feedback Interferometry based on a Generalised Phase-stepping Algorithm". In this work we report an improved method of coherent sensing through the use of a generalized phase-stepping algorithm to extract magnitude and phase information from interferometric fringes acquired by laser feedback interferometry (LFI). Our approach allows for significantly reduced optical sampling and acquisition times whilst also avoiding the need for fitting to complex models of lasers under optical feedback in post-processing. We investigate theoretically the applicability of this method under different levels of optical feedback, different laser parameters, and for different sampling conditions. We furthermore validate its use experimentally for LFI-based sensing using a terahertz (THz)-frequency laser in both far-field and near-field sensing configurations. Finally we demonstrate our approach for two-dimensional nanoscale imaging of the out-of-plane field supported by individual micro-resonators at THz frequencies. Our results show that fully coherent sensing can be achieved reliably with as little as 4 sampling points per imaging pixe
