The Legal Nature of Consuls Immunity
Whenever is talked about the immunities and privileges of the consuls, it must bear in mind that this institution is of particular importance in international law, especially in consular law. Otherwise, the immunity as a concept means exemption from an obligation. In the legal point of view, the content of the nature of the immunity itself consists to explain a particular status of a subject at a certain time. This paper aims to explain the meaning and the importance of the consuls immunity based on various literature and in domestic and international legal acts i.e. Havana Convention on Consular Agents (1928), Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (1963), European Convention on Consular Functions (1967), Convention on Special Missions (1969), on which are foreseen all rights and obligations of consuls that they exercise during the performance of the mission in the receiving state. This paper examines the use of social media as a strategic/viability tool in business venturing in relationship to challenges facing female entrepreneurs in developing systems such as Nigeria. A survey approach was utilized for analysis of the data collated from 73 respondents. A semi-structured questionnaire was the research instrument, and analyses were made with Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS vs. 25) for a set of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results indicate that some aspects of gender stereotyping could be mitigated by using social media. The constraints of inability at balancing work-life interface, impact of limited mobility, impact of family responsibilities and relationships could be circumvented, leading to enhancement in business operations. This increases viability and sustainability of these enterprises long-term

Evaluation of the impact and effectiveness of information technology governance in the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS)
Corporate governance has received a lot of attention over the last few years. Major factors contributing to this are a number of major corporate fraud cases and the introduction of new regulations, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in 2002 for American companies and the King II report for South Africa. The attention to corporate governance also leads to attention to information technology (IT) governance because IT plays a vital role in supporting business processes. Information technology governance is a subset discipline of corporate governance, focusing on information and technology and its performance and risk management. Information technology governance is essential to ensure that the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) gets expected return on investment. Information technology (IT) governance is all about the implementation of processes, structures and mechanisms that enable business to realise value from IT investment. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of IT governance in NRCS. The researcher’s aim was: to examine the effectiveness of IT controls implemented on the NRCS IT systems; the enforcement of IT policies; the alignment of the IT department with business; and accountability of IT management. This study was conducted using a qualitative research design – specifically case study as a research method. A case study allowed the researcher to gather information through interview questions and observation of the target population, which comprises NRCS management, IT personnel and systems. To conclude the study, the researcher has identified factors prohibiting the NRCS IT department to enforce and implement IT governance for NRCS to realise return on investment they made on IT infrastructure. The inferences may be drawn that effectiveness of IT governance can be achieved by training management and IT personnel in IT governance, using approved IT policies and aligning IT strategy with a business strategy.

This paper examines the variables that drive foreign direct investment in Chinese economy. Recent past studies have shown conflicting results which make further study on this subject matter imperative in the recent times. Data were collected from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and World Bank Indicator from 1990– 2017 and the study employed the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model and Error Correction Model (ECM) to address its objective. Consequently, the major findings that originated from the work could be submitted as follows. The result of ECM term confirmed that about 19% of the total disequilibrium in the previous year would be corrected in the current year. Meanwhile, the principal drivers of FDI inflows in China are the large market size and impressive growth rate of the economy. However, GDP per capita could not derive FDI inflows in China. Based on the findings that emerged in this work, it is mandatory this paper makes these recommends for both the policy makers and the future researchers in China that whenever sporadic inflows of FDI is the target of the policy makers in this country, the Chinese government should manipulate the market size and growth rate of its economy.
