The Book of Concord (Concordia) is the foundational collection of Lutheran confessional teachings. It includes the three ecumenical creeds (Apostles\u27 Creed, Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed), the Augsburg Confession of 1530, the Apology to the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles of Martin Luther, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, the Small Catechism of Martin Luther, the Large Catechism of Martin Luther, the Epitome of the Formula of Concord, and the Declaration of the Formula of Concord. The definitive edition of the book was first published in Dresden, Germany, in 1580 by the printers Stöckel and Bergen. However, there are a family of Concordias that were published in 1579, 1580, and 1581 that unique variations. The Special Collections in the Library at Concordia University, Saint Paul, holds a 1581 Concordia. This work was published in Dresden, Germany, without the baptism and marriage booklets and includes two additional pages of names of subscribers that were submitted too late for the 1580 Concordia publication. The work was originally owned by Johannes Hunnenberger, an original subscriber, and appears to have been donated to Concordia Saint Paul around 1893 (the College\u27s founding) by the Rev. Joseph A. Schmidt, former LCMS Michigan District President (1882-1891).https://digitalcommons.csp.edu/reformation-16th-century/1000/thumbnail.jp
