The Model Research Towards Usable Archives of Family Records in Modern Japan: Focus on The Records of Ajima Branch Family

近現代の個人資料は、個人の社会的役割をもとにした編成が一般的となっている。しかし、この編成手法は社会的キャリアがはっきりし、それに応じた資料が残されている場合にのみ有効といえる。本稿では、個人資料が重層的に蓄積された近現代家資料を対象に、「家」を組織体として捉え、その中に「個人」を紐付ける編成を試みた。対象とする「別家安島家資料」はいわゆる民間所在資料であり、水戸藩家老安島信立三女安島道が始祖となる別家安島家に蓄積された資料群である。道の資料が中心だが、彼女の没後に家督を相続した人物やその家族の資料も混在しているため、近現代家文書としての編成が必要となった。また、当該資料群は一般家庭の非現用文書であり、世代交代や転居など人的変化に伴い資料が加入する可能性もあるため、将来的に可変性のある編成を試みた。第1 節では別家資料の出所の一つである水戸藩士安島家（本家）の来歴と文書群の伝来をまとめ、本家文書群が戦災により焼失している可能性に言及した。第2 節では別家の来歴と、平成以降に行われた別家資料の学術的な調査・保存・利活用の実態を明らかにした。第3 節では編成の詳細について述べた。結論として、本稿で示した「家」組織と「個人」という視点の編成モデルは、いわゆる「移動する文書たち」の編成に有効と考えられた。また民間所在資料の保存・運用に向けた、継続的なアプローチについても付言した。The archival construction model for modern personal records has been proposed to organize them based on an individual’s social roles. However, this approach is only effective when the individual’s social career is clearly defined, and corresponding records have been preserved. In this paper, I attempt to construct a model focusing on modern and contemporary family records, where personal records are accumulated in multiple layers, viewing the “family” as an organization and linking the “individual” within it. The “Ajima Branch Family Records” in focus are a collection accumulated by the Ajima branch family, founded by Ajima Michi, the daughter of a Mito domain samurai. While her records are central to this collection, it also includes materials from individuals who later inherited the family headship and their families. Therefore, the aim was to organize these records as modern family documents with an emphasis on future flexibility. In conclusion, this paper presents an organizational model from the perspective of “family” as an organization and “individual,” which is believed to be effective for the organization of so-called “mobile documents.” Additionally, I also discussed the importance of a continuous approach toward the preservation and utilization of privately held materials.departmental bulletin pape

Interview with Nagai Kafu: Kotaki Atsushi’s “Discourse of Meister Kafu”

令和3年に県立神奈川近代文学館に寄贈された小瀧穆氏関係資料のうち、ノート『荷風大人の談話』は、中央公論社版『荷風全集』編集の任にあたった小瀧氏と永井荷風との談話メモである。小瀧氏は全集の目次や組版、用字といった編集実務上のことだけでなく、しばしば荷風作品の執筆経緯や意図をも質問したらしい。小瀧が荷風文学の分析的読者でもあったためか、本ノートには荷風の代表作や親しい文学者たちについての、荷風著作や関係者の回想には見えない内容を多く含む。荷風が自作について残した声の痕跡を翻刻によって紹介する。Among the materials of Mr. Kotaki donated to the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature in 2021, the notebook ``Discourse of Meister Kafu'' is a document of a conversation between Mr. Kotaki and Kafu Nagai. Kotaki was in charge of editing the Chuokoronsha edition of ``Kafu Complete Works.'' Mr. Kotaki, apparently, did not only asked questions about editing practices such as the table of contents of the complete collection, typesetting, and fonts, but also often asked questions about the history and intentions behind the writing of Kafu's works. Perhaps because Kotaki was an analytical reader of Kafū's literature, this notebook contains a lot of testimony about Kafū's representative works and literary figures he was close to that cannot be seen in Kafū's writings or the reminiscences of those involved.departmental bulletin pape
