Natalie Upton, and Pres. Richard Haugen. Becky Zander and [an Radspinner plot strategy. Debate began to flourish in its second year at BjC, in-creasing in enthusiastic membership and activity. The Debate team is the North Dakota Alpha chapter of PHI RHO PI, the National Forensics organization. Working to overcome the obstacles of a low budget and the death of President Richard Haugen's car, the team's fearless leader Mr. Burkett led them to tourna-ments at Eastern and Rocky Mountain colleges in Bill-ings, Montana, Dickinson, Black Hills State, and almost U.N.D. The Debators also hosted two tourneys at BJC.The first, a college invitational, found BJC debators finalists in every event, an all time high for the team. The second, a high school meet, gave the team new and exciting experiences in organizing and judging debate events. 131 Fearless Leader Mr. Burket
