    Get PDF
This article discusses the analysis of environmental impact of IKN development through agenda settings. The development of IKN comes from the massiveness of potential natural disasters that occur in Jakarta. The low position of the land with the ocean makes the issue of Jakarta sinking even greater in 2050. Then, DKI Jakarta is also known as the most populous province in Indonesia. The impact is the high level of congestion, the rise of slums to high air pollution. This is due to the centralization of political economic development in Jakarta. Seeing this urgency, the Government issued Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN. Pros and cons ensued considering that the validity of the law only took 43 days. In addition, environmental damage is also increasing considering that Kalimantan is often considered the heart of the world. Mass deforestation that makes the existence of raw forests threatened to disappear. The community's economy is threatened. This ambiguity is further sharpened by the concept of IKN which carries a smart city. The theories used is agenda settings. The method used is descriptive  qualitative research and literature study.

Aging is a natural process that every human undergoes, marking the final phase of life. Common issues among the elderly include declining sleep quality and fluctuations in blood pressure, which can significantly impact overall health. Research has shown that exercise combining movement with easily listenable music can positively affect blood pressure, improve sleep quality, and enhance balance in older adults. This study aims to analyze differences in blood pressure, sleep quality, and balance in the elderly following an exercise intervention. An institutional-based intervention design was used, providing integrative traditional exercise therapy to elderly groups in Pangkalpinang City. A total of 50 elderly participants were selected based on predetermined criteria and divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group participated in an 8-week traditional exercise program called Senam Bedincak, a local exercise from Bangka Island, while the control group continued their usual activities. Post-intervention assessments measured sleep quality, blood pressure, and balance using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that the independent t-test for sleep quality resulted in a p-value of 0.000 (p 0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention in the experimental group

Screening of Polysaccharide-Lytic Enzymes by Aspergillus Oryzae on Corncob (Zea mays) and Banana Peel (Musa acuminata Colla)

    Get PDF
Polysaccharide-lytic enzymes (PLEs)—xylanase, pectinase, amylase, β-glucosidase and endoglucanase—play key roles in the food, feed and bioenergy sectors by converting lignocellulosic waste into fermentable sugars. This study evaluated the ability of Aspergillus oryzae to produce these five PLEs on two abundant yet under-utilised agro-industrial residues: corn cobs (Zea mays) and banana peels (Musa acuminata balbisiana Colla). Submerged fermentation was performed using 1 % (w/v) substrate at 30 °C and 120 rpm. Enzyme activities were determined colorimetrically, and differences between substrates were analyzed using Mann–Whitney U test whereas the starch- and pectin-rich banana peels favour pectinase, amylase, glucosidase and endoglucanase, Spearman–Kendall correlation, and linear regression. The highest xylanase titre (12.8 ± 0.2 IU mL⁻¹) was achieved with corn cobs—about 1.5-fold higher than with banana peels (p 0.05). Conversely, banana peels significantly boosted pectinase (2.5 IU mL⁻¹), amylase (14.0 IU mL⁻¹), β-glucosidase (18.1 IU mL⁻¹) and endoglucanase (15.2 IU mL⁻¹) compared with corn cobs (p 0.05). Strong negative correlations (ρ ≈ −0.85 to −0.95) were observed between xylanase and the other enzymes, while the latter showed very strong positive intercorrelations (ρ ≈ 0.81–0.98). Linear regression confirmed that substrate type significantly affected enzyme yields (R² 0.90; p 0.001). These findings indicate that corn cobs are the most effective substrate for xylanase production, whereas banana peels better support pectinase, amylase, β-glucosidase, and endoglucanase synthesis. The results highlight the importance of selecting appropriate agro-waste substrates to maximise enzyme production and sustainably valorise agricultural residues
