Approche geo - demographique sur la situation actuelle de la population maori de la Nouvelle Zelande
Although there are significant differences for many demographic and economic indicators between Maori and the rest of the New Zealand population, we can see a trend of ownership of demographic traits. The Maori population is among the best built in a modern society of colonial origin. Several factors have contributed to the social aggregation, supported also by the political structures, by associations and non-governmental organizations and the desire of both peoples from vastly different. Through this integration we are witnessing a renaissance of Maori people and an awareness of current membership in the nation of New Zealand, as the best chance of prosperity and blur the differences and marginalization

The progress of the trade function in the municipality of Roman
For the municipality of Roman (old Moldavian borough, formally attested in 1392, favorably positioned, from a geographical perspective, at the confluence of two rivers: Moldova and Siret, on the grand trade route across Moldavia), the trade activity, along with the strategic function, underlied the foundation of the borough that later became the medieval town. Within this context, after a brief overview of the trade function in the Middle and Modern Ages (regarding the factors that influenced the trade with agricultural, manufactured and industrial products, the traders’ number, the positioning of the marketplaces, storehouses and fairs), we were able to configure - based on more accurate and enriched statistics, for the contemporary period and its two subdivisions - the present commercial profile of the town, as well as its particular features, in terms of quality, quantity, dynamics, structure, position and marketing. Thus, we proceeded to the study of the following items: the dynamics and typology of the commercial unities (using as a criteria the personnel number, the type of the practiced trade, the merchandise structure), the urban positioning, the dynamics of the personnel involved in trade activities, as well as Roman’s external commercial partners. Using statistical indices and indicators for dynamics, structure and density, we made references to the level of development of the trade function (and mainly of the wholesale and retail trade put to the service of approximately 70 000 inhabitants) and to Roman’s immediate, near and peripheral areas of commercial influence. As a conclusion, we made some propositions regarding the expansion of the commercial function that currently employs over 3 000 people (that is 12.3 % of the urban active population)
La lutte pour la vie. Une analyse multiscalaire de la dynamique de la mortalité infantile dans l’Europe contemporaine
The infant mortality analyse may be approached also of the geographical perspective. This perspective is centered arround the concept of spatial differentiation. The study followed the disparities developed during the processus of the demographical modernization, especially of the infant mortality. The outset of the study is a complexe database, organized in three levels: continental, national and departmental. The period surveyed began in 1950, for the top two levels and in 1966, for the third level. The statistical analysis effectuated by the Statlab point to the existence of an strong correlation between the economic and social evolution and the stint of infant mortality incidence. Next to this correlation there are a series of contradictions, engendered by the local peculiarities. The most often, these characteristics derived from the quality of the medical services and sanitary infrastructure. The political and the cultural contexte may be added. These contradictions there are much manifested at the local level. One other conclusion converged towards the existence of any tendence of a quickely decrease o the infant mortality, unresponsive at the economic growth and the amelioration of the social estate
