Using specific data from the EISCAT Svalbard radar, located around 78◦N, extended in different seasons of 2007, it has been confirmed most of the statistical observations of other studies from longer periods of time and a possible relation between the occurrence of depletions and some of the solar wind parameters has been found. Due to the lack of available data, not enough statistical data treatment has been done to reinforce the formulated hypothesis, therefore, future studies should be able to manage bigger amount of dat

In this case we present a business decision-making situation in which the CEO of an Argentine Ag Biotech company, Bioceres, has to decide the best way to commercialize a new drought-tolerant transgenic technology. The company was founded by twenty three farmers, who shared a common dream that Argentina could become a benchmark in the development of Ag biotechnology. The case has strategic and financial implications, as well as decision-making situation involving a joint venture with an American biotechnology company. It also introduces to discussion the business models of Ag biotechnology companies in developing countries

Analyze the evolution of the imaginary of church and society, and the relationship between them can be established in some texts of the production of Augustine of Hipona, focusing the analysis in relation to the different perceptions that had been dominant in Roman Africa , especially Cyprian of Carthage and Donatist church

African Coloni: Resilience, Self-determination and Religious Coercion (4th -5th Centuries)

The historiography on the coloni of the Later Roman Empire has resulted in different conflicting perspectives. In particular, the researchers discuss the resilience of at least certain groups of coloni against the advancement of the landlords’ prerogatives based on the advance of private powers in front of the Imperial State. However, it is very likely that the conditions of resistence or exploitation of coloni could have had different degrees, nuances and balances in different regions of the Roman Empire. I will study these conditions through some letters of Augustine of Hippo at the end of the fourth century and the beginning of the fifth century, related to a greater or lesser extent with the repression of Donatist groups. I will try to analyze in particular the scope of the capacities of collective agency and religious self-determination of African coloni as an important aspect in the context of the loss of freedom traditionally suggested by historiography on the colonate.

The aim of this paper will be to analyze some of the effects of the Roman policies over the churches of North Africa between the 3rd and 5th centuries. The outcomes of repressive actions, as well as the consequences that the state intervention had on Christian communities and on their power structures will be especially examined, considering the actions taken during the periods of persecutions led by Decius, Diocletian and Constantine (even though this last emperor had promoted an edict of religious freedom shortly before his rise to power). In the case of North Africa, the consequences that for the Christian community had its change from being a persecuted group to an ally of the state were particularly significant, as well as the emperor´s intervention in its internal disputes that led to the Donatist schism. Particularly, we will study the power conflicts resulting from the emergence of groups that competed to control the ecclesiastical institution, as well as the persistence of a collective memory and the discursive practices that sustained it.Observaremos en estas páginas algunos efectos de la acción política del estado romano sobre las iglesias del norte africano entre los siglos III y V de nuestra era.
