Analyse des coûts des implants par AP-DRG

    Get PDF

Parametric and Semiparametric Competing Risks Models for Statistical Process Control with Reliability Analysis

The work in this thesis is concerned with the development of techniques for the assessment of statistical process control in data that include censored observations. Various regression models with censored data are presented and we concentrate on four competing risks models namely, two parametric Cox’s model that is, Cox’s with Weibull distribution, Cox’s with exponential distribution and two semiparametric Cox’s model with subdistribution function that is, the weighted score function (W) and censoring complete (CC). The Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm is utilized to obtain the estimate of the parameters in the models. A generated data where the failure times are taken as exponentially distributed are used to further compare these two parametric models. From the simulation study for this particular case, we can conclude that Weibull distribution describes well the nature of the model concerned as compared to the exponential distribution in terms of the mean value of parameter estimates, bias, and the root means square error. Plots of survival distribution function against failure time are used to examine the predicted survival patterns for the two types of failures. In this thesis we develop a modified Fine and Gray methods to increase the sensitivity of the models and these methods are tested and compared. A simulation data using subdistribution function for the two types of failure are carried out to compare the performance of the modified model. The results of the study indicate the models show better result compared to Fine and Gray models. However, the weighted score function (W) shows better result compared to the censored complete data (CC). Residual-based approaches are used to assess the validity of the two models (MW, CC) assumptions. Plots of this residual against failure time are used to investigate whether important explanatory variables have been omitted from the model. The study also carries out an investigation of the causes of failure for statistical process control. The x chart, R chart and Cp, and Cpk are examined for the possibility of being used to detect the state of control of the covariates in the two competing risks models (Cox’s with Weibull distribution (PHW2) and modification of weighted score function (MW)). The result of this study indicates that both models are successful in investigating the causes of failure for statistical process control. However, the results from the real data sets which involves the measurement of stress against three covariates (aluminum, wood and plastic) showed that the tubes wrapped on plastic mandrel have excellent crashworthiness performance with respect to the x chart, R chart, Cp, and Cpk

The mediating effect of market orientation on the relationship between total quality management, entrepreneurial orientation and the performance of banks in Libya

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of Market Orientation (MO) on the relationship between total quality management (TQM), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and organizational performance (OP). The motivation for this study was driven by the inconsistent findings in the literature concerning the relationships between TQM, EO, and organizational performance. Due to the inconsistent results, a new research has emerged and this has prompted further investigation on the effect of other variables that may better explain the nature of these links. In the related literature, many theories have suggested that the compatibility between strategies, resources, and capabilities as the keys for success. To achieve this purpose, this study has integrated different theories such as the resource-based view, and the Congruence Model . Questionnaires were distributed to 400 Sections of the Libyan banks. 230 questionnaires were returned and used in the analysis using the PLSSEM. The results of this study revealed that TQM, and EO were positive and have also been proven to be significant predictors of organizational performance. More importantly, the results have also confirmed the mediating effect of Market Orientation on the relationships between TQM, EO, and organizational performanc

In an embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a method of managing multi data cluster failure. The method comprises scheduling one or more applications on a primary cluster and a secondary cluster, monitoring a status of the one or more applications scheduled in one cluster by the other data cluster, identifying the status of the applications of one cluster by the other cluster, updating the status of the one or more applications associated with each cluster on the distributed file system (DFS) of respective cluster, and generating output reports of the scheduled one or more applications. The method automatically converts the secondary data cluster to the primary cluster and vice-versa upon identifying the status of primary cluster as under failure or under maintenance during monitoring

The Development of Public Opinion in Bengal 1818-1835.

This thesis is a study of the ideas which constituted public opinion in Bengal, the influences which shaped them and the effect of those ideas on Government policy. There were three distinct types of reaction to the Western impact: (i) The conservative Hindus who were anxious for practical reasons to promote English education, but were afraid of Western ideas. Their tendency was to resist Western ideas by adopting Western techniques, (ii) The reformist Hindus had imbibed the liberal ideas of the age and sought to reinterpret but not reject Hinduism, (iii) The radicals rejected Hinduism in the light of rationalist criticism. The growth of the Press helped the development of public opinion. The English Press influenced the growth of the vernacular Press. By 1835 the Bengal Press reflected the opinion of the different sections of the people. The Government policy towards the Press was not consistent. The Government's attitude of avoiding serious conflict with Indian public opinion was apparent in its social policy. It modified its policy of resuming rent-free lands with defective titles, a policy which had produced serious discontent among the zamindars. It was only when a fairly strong opinion against sati was created in Bengal, that the Government decided to act. But it needed a man of Bentinck's stature to effect the abolition of this custom. As a result of strong Indian protest, the Government also abolished the discriminatory clauses of the Indian Jury Act of 1826. The growing though predominantly Hindu demand for English education and the influence of the 'Anglicists' led the Government to change its education policy which had been to promote, traditional Indian learning. But 'Anglicism' could not go very far, Muslim fears and protest influenced the Government decision. The sources on which this thesis is based consist of unpublished and published materials - official documents and private papers, books and tracts, newspapers and periodical journals, in both English and Bengali. In using these materials emphasis has been placed on contemporary or near-contemporary sources
