Láser y luz pulsada intensa en el tratamiento de hemangiomas infantiles y malformaciones vasculares
The use of the indications of the laser in treating
vascular malformations and infantile haemangiomas is
based on the theory of selective photothermolysis, in
which the oxyhaemoglobin is the target chromophore
on which the light of the laser acts, thus avoiding damage
to neighbouring tissues. The pulsed dye laser is the
most employed and at present is the treatment of
choice in capillary malformations (port-wine stains). A
variable response is obtained, with a substantial clearing
of the colour of the lesion after several sessions.
Application at early ages seems to improve the results.
Venous malformations, especially those localised in
the mucosa, respond better to the Nd:YAG laser; lymphatic
malformations to the CO2 laser. Arteriovenous
malformations rarely respond. Use of the pulsed dye
laser in the phase of proliferation of the haemangiomas
is subject to controversy, except where there is ulceration.
A rapid re-epithelialization is obtained in these
cases following its use. In the involution phase,
patients with residual vascular lesions can benefit from
other lasers such as KTP or Nd:YAG. If they show an
atrophic surface and scars these complications
improve with the CO2 laser or Er:YAG. New treatment
modalities are emerging, such as photodynamic therapy,
whose efficacy and safety, both in the treatment of
haemangiomas and vascular malformations, have yet
to be confirmed
Learning Based on Problems (ABP), Impact of RAEE: A Case Study
Using a case of research as a methodological tool, applied in the research lab with students of the ninth semester of the academic program of chemical engineering (IQ) of the Faculty of chemical sciences and engineering (FCQeI) of the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM), analyzed competition to students include scientific concepts acquired, where education is a human process more than verify that cognitive skills according to the approach [1], are developed during the resolution of the case. The results showed that students managed to explain the concepts involved, reflected on his own work and realized what had to be improved. For that, students employed higher order cognitive skills, such as explain, investigate, conclude, argue, make decisions and cognitive skills of low order, such as describing, enunciating, memorize and reproduce

MC4.3 - Optically Coupled Mode-Locked Laser Array for Spectroscopy in InP Generic Integration
We propose a two-element mode-locked laser
array operating at 1.56 µm. Optical pulses with 14.5-ps width,
spectral bandwidth exceeding 7 nm, and RF line width of 260
kHz at 12.448 GHz are experimentally reported
Se hace una revisión bibliográfica sobre la etiopatogenia, radiología, métodos diagnósticos y tratamientoA retrospective study of thirteen patients with pigmented villonodular synovitis was made. Six cases were localized in the knee, two in the wrist and feet, and one in ankle, hip and elbow. Five case showed bone invasion, the pathogenesis, radiographical appearance, diagnosis and treatment are discussed
Neurological or myopathic diseases are frequently involved in the etiology of flat
foot. In some cases, no antecedents of disease can be found and therefore these flat foots are
classified as «essential». We have undertaken an electrophysiologic study in a series of patients
with «essential» flat food in order to explore unsuspected neurological disorders. In half of the
patients, neuropathic and myopathic electroneurographic patterns of different severity were detected
Eighteen patients who had tumours of peripheral nerves have been studied retrospectively. They were treated in our department for eight years. Most of these tumours were placed intraneuraly (14 cases), were benignant (13 cases), and located in the upper limb. The most precise test for diagnosis was the MRI. We want to emphasize the existence in our series of some tumours which rarely appears in clinic, for example a Fibrolipoma, a intraneural chondroma and a malignant triton tumour
Numerical integration of variational equations
We present and compare different numerical schemes for the integration of the
variational equations of autonomous Hamiltonian systems whose kinetic energy is
quadratic in the generalized momenta and whose potential is a function of the
generalized positions. We apply these techniques to Hamiltonian systems of
various degrees of freedom, and investigate their efficiency in accurately
reproducing well-known properties of chaos indicators like the Lyapunov
Characteristic Exponents (LCEs) and the Generalized Alignment Indices (GALIs).
We find that the best numerical performance is exhibited by the
\textit{`tangent map (TM) method'}, a scheme based on symplectic integration
techniques which proves to be optimal in speed and accuracy. According to this
method, a symplectic integrator is used to approximate the solution of the
Hamilton's equations of motion by the repeated action of a symplectic map ,
while the corresponding tangent map , is used for the integration of the
variational equations. A simple and systematic technique to construct is
also presented.Comment: 27 pages, 11 figures, to appear in Phys. Rev.
External optical self-injection stabilization of an InP generic foundry platform based passively mode-locked ring laser
Timing stabilization of a photonic integrated circuit extended cavity passively mode-locked semiconductor ring laser with four gain sections and two saturable absorbers in a symmetric ring geometry by optical self-injection is presented. The laser has been fabricated using an InP generic integration technology platform. Repetition rate tuning up to 5.5MHz and a timing jitter reduction by optical self-injection from 99 fs (solitary laser operation) to 20 fs is demonstrated. The experimental results are in excellent agreement with results obtained by a stochastic time domain model which yet had been solely applied to edge-emitting straight waveguide semiconductor lasers
