The Digital Humanities i s a widely c onsidered p henomenon i n t he c ontemporary d iscursive
space. The consistent definition of the DH is still absent and establishing its characteristic
features, boundaries, and the scope of this idea is still pending. Thus, the aim of this article is
an attempt to study the ways of representation and conceptualisation of this currently trendy
name used in texts of the Polish language academic discourse. The discursive perspective that
was adopted during the exploration of the collected sources enabled the authors to distinguish
the crucial features of the Digital Humanities. What is more, the evolutionary and open nature
of the discussed conceptual category were proved. The DH seems to transcend the frameworks
of academic discourse whose identification is based on the institutional criterion of reference
