Course Description: 
This course of instruction is designed to provide law enforcement personnel a more in depth knowledge of 
elder/vulnerable adult abuse, neglect, exploitation, victimization and related dynamics.  Educate officers on the 
practical application of the Omnibus Adult Protection Act.  
Elder/Vulnerable adult victimization rates are expected to grow tremendously over the next 30 years. Topics 
will include prevalence/growth of elder victimization, statues, elder behaviors, elder/caregiver dynamics, types 
of abuse, signs/symptoms of all forms of abuse, investigative strategies and techniques, proper utilization of 
emergency protective custody.  Students will review case incidents for class discussion.  Resource lists will be 
provided.  
Who Should Attend? 
All certified law enforcement officers. 
CLEE Credit:  7 CLEE Hours
