This study proposes to examine the iconic zoomorphic component in the graphic and textual manifestations that have survived from the Viceroyalty of Peru’s festive activities, with the aim of drawing some primary conclusions regarding the characteristics and uses of those motifs. Faced with the absence of indices for Peruvian festival hieroglyphics, analysis will be conducted on the relations, representations of the ephemeral devices and bibliographical references available in this field.El presente trabajo propone una aproximación al componente icónico zoomorfo en las manifestaciones gráfico-textuales que nos han llegado de la actividad festiva del Virreinato del Perú con el fin de extraer unas primeras conclusiones sobre las características y usos de estos motivos.
