DINÁMICA DE HÁBITATS DE LOS HUMEDALES LITORALES DE LA LAGUNA DEL MAR MENOR (MURCIA, SE DE ESPAÑA) ASOCIADA A LOS CAMBIOS EN EL RÉGIMEN HIDROLÓGICO DE SU CUENCA DRENANTE

Abstract

During the last decades the wetlands associated to the Mar Menor lagoon (Southeastern Spain) have suffered a series of physico-chemical and hydrological changes due to the increase in the water inputs coming from the agricultural drainages. In this work, it has been carried out an analysis of the changes in the plant communities of such wetlands using remote sensing techniques. Results obtained have allowed the reconstruction of the changes in the total area occupied by the wetlands along the studied period. A close fit with the changes in the area occupied by total irrigated lands was found. This is a good indicator about the relationship between the wetlands and the changes in the water dynamics of the watershed, linked to the increase in irrigated lands. In addition, the remote sensing techniques also allowed the reconstruction of the internal changes along time in the habitat composition of each wetland, where a clear reduction of Priority and European Interest habitats was detected.Los humedales de la ribera interna del Mar Menor, se han visto sometidos en las últimas décadas a una serie de transformaciones físico – químicas e hidrológicas a consecuencia del incremento de aporte hídrico procedente de los drenajes agrícolas de la cuenca. En el presente trabajo se ha realizado un análisis de los cambios operados en las comunidades vegetales de dichos humedales, aplicando técnicas de teledetección. Los resultados obtenidos nos han permitido reconstruir, por un lado los cambios en la superficie de estos humedales a lo largo del periodo estudiado, encontrándose un buen grado de ajuste con la evolución de la superficie total de regadío de la cuenca del Mar Menor, claro indicador de la relación entre estos humedales y los cambios en la dinámica hídrica asociada al incremento del regadío. Y por otra parte, ha permitido igualmente reconstruir los cambios internos en la composición de cada humedal, detectándose importantes variaciones en las superficies de los hábitats con una clara disminución de los hábitats prioritarios y de interés comunitario
