Este trabalho, de caráter qualitativo, investigou o processo de significação de conceitos físico-químicos da Teoria Cinética dos Gases, a representação gráfica das transformações de estado (isotérmica, isobárica e isovolumétrica) para um gás ideal e avaliou os softwares empregados. A coleta de dados foi feita através de questionários e capturas de tela e ocorreu durante a implementação de uma unidade didática elaborada para esse fim. Os sujeitos da investigação foram estudantes do segundo ano do Ensino Médio da Rede Estadual de Ensino de Maringá, PR. Utilizamos como pressupostos teóricos os estudos relacionados à Teoria da Ação Mediada, de James Wertsch. A pesquisa procurou identificar as principais dificuldades que os estudantes desse nível de ensino evidenciam durante o processo de elaboração de significados sobre o comportamento dos Gases Ideais e suas representações gráficas, com base no estudo das transformações de estado. Entendemos que houve uma perceptível interferência, não exclusiva, na significação dos enunciados e na elaboração dos gráficos, ao utilizar os softwares GeoGebra e Propriedade dos Gases (PhET). Em relação ao “domínio” e “apropriação” dos gêneros discursivos, nossas análises apontam que houve “domínio” das ferramentas culturais pela maioria dos sujeitos, e “apropriação”, nas mesmas condições de estudo, por uma parcela menor deles.Palavras-chave: Elaboração de significados. Gases Ideais.Use and evaluation of softwares in the teaching of ideal gases: a teaching unit proposal for high schoolAbstractThe research has investigated qualitatively the defining process of the physico-chemical concepts on the Kinetic Theory of Gases, the graphic representation of state transformations (isothermal, isobaric and isovolumetric) for ideal gases and evaluated the used softwares. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and screenshots during the implementation of a didactic unit designed for this purpose. The subjects of the investigation were students of the second year of High School of the State Education System of Maringá, PR. We use as theoretical assumptions the studies related to James Wertsch's Theory of Mediated Action. The research sought to identify the main difficulties that students at this level of education show during the process of elaborating meanings about the behavior of Ideal Gases and their graphic representations based on the study of state transformations. We understand that there was a noticeable, non-exclusive, interference in the significance of the statements and in the elaboration of the graphics when using the softwares GeoGebra and Property of Gases (PhET). As to the “domain” and “appropriation” of the discursive genres, our analyzes show that there was “domain” of the cultural tools by most of the subjects, and “appropriation”, under the same study conditions, by a smaller portion of them.Keywords: Elaboration of meanings.
