The interactions between the construction and the interpretation of statistical graphs in modelling projects with the use of Information and Communication Technologies

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta um recorte de uma tese de doutorado que analisa a leitura, construção e interpretação de gráficos estatísticos em projetos de modelagem com uso das tecnologias de informação e comunicação. Mais especificamente, analisamos as interações entre construção e interpretação de gráficos estatísticos. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, ocorreu em um colégio de ensino médio e profissional da Bahia e se justifica pelas lacunas de pesquisas sobre gráficos estatísticos. Os dados foram coletados através de observações, documentos e entrevistas dos grupos de alunos dos cursos técnicos de Agroindústria e Enfermagem. A análise de dados aponta que alguns gráficos precisaram ser reconstruídos devido à interpretação inicial realizada, em que foram identificados equívocos e/ou dificuldades. Isso gerou um processo que denominamos de interação entre construção e interpretação de gráficos. Portanto, identificamos que foram compostos coletivos de humanos, oralidade, escrita e informática que produziram conhecimentos matemáticos, tecnológicos e reflexivos coletivos ou coflexivos.This article presents a part of a thesis that analyzes the reading, construction and interpretation of statistical graphs in modelling projects with the use of information and communication technologies. Being more specific, we analyzed the interactions between the construction and the interpretation of statistical graphs. The research, which is of the qualitative nature, occurred in a high school that has professional courses, located in Bahia and it is justified by the shortcomings pointed out by the demands of researches about statistical graphs. The data were collected through observations, documents and interviews with groups of students of technical courses in Agroindustry and Nursing. The analyze of the data shows, that in the interaction between the construction and the interpretation of statistical graphs, some graphs needed to be reconstructed due to the graph constructed previously, where misunderstandings and/or difficulties were identified in its interpretation. This generated a process which we call interaction between construction and interpretation of graphs. Thus, we indentified that were composed collective of humans, speaking, writing and computing, that produced mathematical, technological and reflexive collectively or coflexive knowledge.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
