La riqueza de nuestro patrimonio lúdico se mide en gran medida por la magnitud y el impacto
que los juegos populares y tradicionales han tenido en nuestra sociedad. En España, la práctica
de algunos de estos juegos más importantes se relaciona con las aportaciones de los peregrinos
que realizaban la ruta hasta Santiago de Compostela. Documentada la práctica profusa de juegos
populares y tradicionales en los municipios por donde transcurre el Camino Portugués a su
entrada en Galicia, este estudio buscó identificar y analizar las prácticas lúdicas tradicionales en
los municipios por donde transcurre el último tramo del Camino Central Portugués (de Porto a
Valença do Minho) y su transferencia al ámbito escolar. Se opta por una metodología cualitativa,
empleando la entrevista personal semiestructurada como instrumento para la obtención de datos.
Se registró una baja práctica de juegos tradicionales en estos municipios, donde el juego de
Malha constituye la excepción más resaltable de este grupo de prácticas lúdicas, y donde se
constató que la práctica de juegos populares y tradicionales en los centros educativos es escasa y,
sobre todo, esporádica. La riqueza lúdica portuguesa debería ser tenida en mejor consideración
por las autoridades, focalizando el trabajo de promoción y recuperación en las escuelas, lugares
idóneos para este tipo de proyectos lúdico-sociales.

impact that the popular and traditional games have had in our society. In Spain, the practice of
some of these more important games relates to the contributions of the pilgrims who realized the
route up to Santiago de Compostela. Documented the profuse practice of traditional and popular
games in the municipalities where it passes the Portuguese Way to its entry in Galicia, this study
sought to identify and analyze traditional playful practices in the municipalities where takes
place the last stretch of the Central Portuguese Way (from Porto to Valença do Minho) and their
transfer to the school environment. We opt for a qualitative methodology, using the personal
semi-structured interview as a tool for obtaining data. There was registered a low practice of
traditional games in these municipalities, where Malha game is the most remarkable group of
recreational practice exception, and where it was found that the practice of popular and
traditional games in schools is scarce and, above all, sporadic. The playful Portuguese wealth
