Neste artigo, os autores escrevem sobre a Lei de Bases do Sistema Educativo a partir de um olhar curricular, conjugando o passado, que remonta a inícios da década de 1970, e o futuro de uma revisão desta lei-quadro, trazendo para a discussão o presente de algumas perspetivas. Apesar das revisões efetuadas, quase sempre epidérmicas, com exceção da integração do Processo de Bolonha, a Lei de Bases do Sistema Educativo necessita de uma alteração significativa, já que 30 anos em educação correspondem a mudanças profundas que de modo algum estão refletidas no atual texto legislativo. Salientamos dois aspetos principais para uma revisão: arquitetura curricular dos 0 aos 18 anos e desenvolvimento pessoal e social.In this paper the authors write about the Portuguese Education System Basic Law regarding from a
curricular perspective that conjugate the past, back to the beginnings of the 70's, and a future review
in this public law, bringing to the discussion the some present perspectives. In spite of past revisions,
most of them superficial, excepting the Bologna Process, the Portuguese Education System Basic
Law needs a major change, since in that thirty years in the education field represent deep changes
that are not in any stance reflected in the current law. We refer two central aspects for a review: the
