El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las características técnicas y formales de las imágenes que aparecen en los libros de texto de Educación Física del tercer ciclo de Educación Primaria publicados a partir de 2007. La muestra está constituida por 1.455 imágenes de 5 editoriales. El estudio es de tipo descriptivo y empírico; utiliza el análisis de contenido, mediante un sistema de categorías elaborado ad hoc. Los resultados muestran características comunes en las imágenes, otorgando realidad a las características técnicas de las imágenes, mientras que las características formales permiten una mayor fijación y facilitan el aprendizaje del alumno.The aim of this research is to analyse the technical and formal characteristics of the images that appear in textbooks of Physical Education of the third cycle of Primary Education published since 2007. The sample consists of 1.455 images belonging to five Spanish publishers. The study is descriptive and empirical, using content analysis as core technique of this research that is based on ad hoc system. The results show a predominance of the images with entire plane, mid-focus stand out, without contour, with a small size, located at the bottom right of the page, correlate with the text and colour.Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deport
