Letter from T. Fisher Unwin to John Muir, 1913 Nov 10.

Abstract

T. Fisher Unwin,l, Adelphi Terrace,London, W.C. November 10. 1913As perhaps you are aware, from time to time I have published, or rather sold in England, small editions of your books which have been issued by the Century Co. and other forms; for instance the volume entitled The Mountains of California . My object in writing now is that in looking back though some old correspondence with a Mr. J. B. Miller of Dunbar, I notice a remark that you came from Scotland and as. I understand it are a native of Dunbar, I notice if this is correct? The old gentleman died some dozen or more years ago and I am merely relying on my memory of that letter. My object also arises from the fact that I have in preparation for publication a volume on the Miller family, who were printers, publishers, authors and booksellers at the beginning of the last Century, indeed there are two or three generations of them and it occurred to me that if you knew Dunbar, you might perhaps be able to give me some information in regard to this family. I need hardly say it would05604 be a pleasure to hear from you in any case as in past years I have been your publisher.[illegible]0560
