Abstract
Este artigo publica o texto Memória sobre um Projecto de Pasigrafia que o
matemático português José Maria Dantas Pereira (1772-1836) publicou em 1800,
em Lisboa. Esta edição procura tornar esse texto mais acessível a leitores contemporâneos,
identificando todas as referências eruditas que cita e actualizando a ortografia
e sintaxe do texto. São feitos comentários ao texto de modo a salientar a
notável originalidade de alguns argumentos.This paper publishes the text Memory about a Project of Pasigraphy that the
Portuguese mathematician José Maria Dantas Pereira (1772-1836) published in
1800, in Lisbon. This edition has as its main goal to create a version of the text
easily readable by a contemporary audience, identifying all its erudite references.
The orthography and syntax of the text are up-to-dated. A small number of commentaries
are made about the text, highlighting the remarkable creativity of its
main arguments
