Abstract

Este artigo procura, em primeiro lugar, realçar a actualidade e relevância das questões de comunicação. Em segundo lugar, tenta evocar alguns factores fundamentais na constituição da área científica da comunicação, tais como, os mass media, a teoria da comunicação, o estudo da comunicação no quadro das ciências sociais e no quadro das ciências humanas e das da linguagem. Finalmente, à luz do panorama delineado, propõe-se a concepção interdisciplinar das Ciências da Comunicação.First and foremost, this article aims at underlining both the actuality and the relevance of the communication issues. Secondly, it aims at making a point by evoking the main factors in building the scientific area of Communication Sciences along the twentieth century, namely, the mass media, the communication theory, communication issues in the field of Social Sciences, as well as in Humanities and Language Sciences. Finally, in the sight of such landscape, an interdisciplinary conception of Communication Sciences is proposed
