Testing the ISRD -2 Questionnaire in Portugal  Pilot Survey Report  Silvia M. Mendes  I. Objective and Organization of the Pilot Study  The pilot study of the ISRD-2 was conducted in a rural secondary grade school in the town of Briteiros in the Municipality of Guimarães, District of Braga. The survey took on average about 25 minutes to answer.   II. Comments on the Questionnaire   Problems Detected during the Administration of the Survey   1. A frequent question asked during the administration of the survey was in regard to the possibility of selecting more than one answer to Questions # 7, 14, 15, 23, 24, and 44; perhaps we should stress that we want only one answer,  the best, most adequate, or most frequent answer;  2. If student chose option # 6 (“I live with other family . . .”) in Question #6, then s/he is limited in the response categories in Questions like #23;  3. Also in regard to Question #6, some students explained that their parents were divorced and, although living with both mother and father, they did so separately; similarly, others explained that they lived with both a mother/stepmother and father/stepfather, although they did so separately;  4. In regard to Question #10, one omitted possibility is in regard to the matter of maternity leave.  5. In regard to Question #48, some students mentioned that they had smoked plain cigarettes but not marijuana and wanted to know if they could cross-out marijuana; perhaps we could add another question about smoking cigarettes.
