EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 98-35
WHEREAS, the Election Commission of the County of McCormick has declared invalid the November 3, 1998
election for County Council District Two; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. Section 7-13-1170 (Cum. Supp. 1995), where the appropriate authority has
declared an election invalid, the Governor is authorized to order an election to be held at the time and place and with
such notice as appears to him to be adequate to ensure the will of the electorate being fairly expressed.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of South
Carolina, it is ordered that the County of McCormick Election Commission schedule an election for the office of
County Council, District Two, to be held on February 23, 1999. It is further Ordered that the County of McCormick
Election Commission shall take all steps necessary to schedule and hold this election.
GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, THIS 21ST
DAY OF DECEMBER 1998.
