In early 2020, the world began to watch with caution the spread of an outbreak of pneumonia associated with a new coronavirus, called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which originated in late December 2019 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China.
