On rigidity of analytic black holes

Abstract

We establish global extendibility (to the domain of outer communications) of locally defined isometries of appropriately regular analytic black holes. This allows us to fill a gap in the Hawking-Ellis proof of black-hole rigidity.Comment: 10 pages, latex with amssym
