The issue of social and educational inequalities among children in rural areas in the case of Dobra community

Abstract

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest problematyka nierówności społecznych i edukacyjnych wśród dzieci na wsi. W pracy posłużono się przykładem szkół Gminy Dobra (powiat limanowski, województwo małopolskie). Tezami badawczymi pracy były: świadomość i postrzeganie nierówności społecznych przez nauczycieli oraz uczniów, dynamika występowania zjawiska nierówności społecznych i edukacyjnych na wsi oraz działania podejmowane przez samorząd w celu wyrównywania szans edukacyjnych dzieci z niższym, odziedziczonym kapitałem społecznym.The main subject of this (Master’s Degree) thesis is the issue of social and educational inequalities among children in rural areas. This study uses as an example the schools of Dobra community (Limanowa County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship). The research theses of this study were: the awareness and perception of social inequalities by teachers and students, the dynamics of the phenomenon of social and educational inequalities in the rural areas and the actions taken by the local government in order to level the educational opportunities for children with lower, inherited social capital
