Mr. S.APP, from the Committee on l\filitary Affairs, submitted the following REPORT~ The Committee on Military Ajfa1'rs, to whom was referred the memorial of W,aziam R. Elam, praying compensation for a negro killed by the Indians, report : That the memorialist alleges in this petition that, on the 31st of August, A. D. 1855, a body of hostile Indians from the republic of Mexico invaded the State of Texas, and murdered a negro girl by the name of Lucy, belonging to him. As there is nothing in the shape of evidence to sustain the allega-tions of the memorialist, the committee ask to be discharged from the further consideration of the memorial.
