Semiconductor Theory and Projects

Abstract

The high school physics teacher must continuously face the problem of trying to keep abreast of new developments in physics. One of the most recent advances has been in the area of semiconductors. Research has led to the production of crystal diodes and transistors on a commercial basis and they are finding many applications in all branches of electronics. In this report, an attempt has been made to present some of the theory of semiconductor operation in such a way that the high school teacher will be able to intelligently answer and discuss questions which students may have concerning semiconductors. In addition, a series of five semiconductor circuits are presented which can be used as projects for those students interested in electronics.Natural Scienc
