We are proud to havehad this opportunity to host the first AFLA meeting from Nusantara, the archipelago of the Malayworld, as well as the first virtual AFLA, necessitated by the Covid 19 pandemic.The AFLA 27 program included 22 regular talks— chosen from 40 abstracts received— aswell as invited talks by Lauren Clemens, Kilu von Prince, Alexander D. Smith, Apay Ai-Yu Tang,and Coppe van Urk. True to previous AFLAs, talks spanned the Austronesian world and includedmany works by junior scholars as well as some native speaker linguists.
