Abstract
The Fisheries Sector in Uganda provides a vital source of food, employment, recreation, trade and socio-economic well-being for the people of this country and for the global community. The Fisheries Department was, therefore, legally established with a view to ensuring effective conservation, development and management of this natural but renewable aquatic resources for the optimum benefit of both the present and future generations.
