A strategic approach for the effective contribution of tertiary institutions in regional growth: the case of the project management departrment of the Technological Educational Institution of Larissa

Abstract

Tertiary Education Institutions practice an appreciable developmental effect, particularly within the geographic region in which they operate. However, in the case of Greek Tertiary Institutions, there is a general concern regarding their capability to correspond sufficiently in the requirements of their «third role», which refers not only to teaching and research, but also to regional development. The process of a systemic approach will determine the interaction between the region of Thessaly and the Department of Project Management of the Technological Education Institution of Larissa.
