Artículo arbitradoLa lactancia materna forma parte de un evolucionado sistema de alimentación y crianza, esencial para la supervivencia humana como fenómeno biológico; también lo determinan la cultura, las creencias y los valores. Su eficacia requiere tomar en cuenta parámetros individuales, familiares, comunitarios, factores biofísicos y políticas públicas de apoyo. El doble discurso y la falta de compromiso gubernamental, por una parte, promocionan la lactancia exclusiva y, por otra, ni en los trabajos ni en las universidades y bachilleratos respetan los horarios para llevarla a cabo. El objetivo es analizar cuántas mujeres del Centro Universitario uaemex Nezahualcóyotl, que han sido madres, han contado con las facilidades para poder amamantar, al menos durante los 6 meses y hasta dos años, período que recomienda la Organización Mundial de la Salud (oms). La finalidad es proponer se tenga un espacio exclusivo para amamantar. El método es de corte cuantitativo y es resultado de una investigación.
