The report addresses the question of the necessity for spiritual and pastoral care provision within the Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS) NHS Foundation Trust. It considers the current provision and seeks to bring staff and patient voices into the discussion, when evaluating services relevant to spiritual and pastoral care. The report examines the literature across a range of disciplines both academic and professional to contextualise thinking in the field. It provides empirical evidence based on patient and carer needs and a variety of staff reflections and makes recommendations for future consideration by the trust when making decisions about how best to provide spiritual and pastoral care across its services.NHS Derbyshire Community Health Service
