New academic and theoretical contributions The study systematically reviewed research related to the research topic, illustrated problems that have been studied and identified new, arising issues of the economic management function of the state in Vietnam that need to be researched and addressed now and in the future. The thesis presented the concept of the economic management function of the state, identified the characteristics, contents, and methods thereof and formalized the conditions for the function to exist and operate. Moreover, the role of the State in institutionalizing the views of the Communist Party of Vietnam in economic development was also analyzed. The academic and theoretical contribution of the thesis has an important scientific implication for creating an updated and accurate concept of the economic management function of the state. The thesis also contributes to the theoretical foundation of the progress toward a socialist legal state, the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration in Vietnam. Certain issues in the theory of law were also clarified to facilitate and support administrative and judicial reform in order to improve the current legal system of Vietnam. 8.2. Conclusions from the research results The thesis mainly assessed the current performance of the economic management function of the State of Socialist Republic of Viet Nam from 2013 until now. Positive aspects, achievements, shortcomings were discussed. The thesis suggested scientific and general solutions for the more effective performance of the economic management function of the State of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in the future.
