Abstract: The study argues that there are four characteristic features of religious terrorism. Extremely
high degree of fanaticism of these terrorists is the first feature. Pan-territorial activity of
religious terrorists is the second one. The third feature expresses that religious terrorism activity is
caused by the pathological psychological problems of those terrorists. Religious terrorists’ claim to
the legitimacy of the violent acts is the fourth feature
