An investigation of heat transfer in a gas-solids dense phase pneumatic pipe flow has been undertaken to determine the heat transfer coefficient between a hot wall and a gas-solids dense phase flow. The experimental results suggest that the heat transfer coefficient between the pipe wall and the gas-solids dense phase flow displays an approximately linear relationship with the solids’ loading ratio. A larger solids’ loading ratio results in a higher heat transfer coefficient from the hot wall to the gas-solids dense phase flow. Although the overlap of data ranges is limited the results have been compared with those of Avila et al and Moriyama et al
