Fachintegrierte Einführung in das Wissenschaftliche Schreiben im Bachelorstudium der Germanistik in Italien

Abstract

This article presents possibilities for supporting academic writing in German as a foreign language by Italian students in bachelor's degree of German Studies. To this end, a didactical proposal is submitted, which has been tested in my own teaching practice and which combines process-related approaches with concepts of model learning, basing on the specific of scientific action by focusing on language in texts and is closely linked to the teaching of subject content. This means that the introduction to scientific writing in the foreign language German is embedded in the subject and subject-specific learning, reading and writing are interwoven. On the basis of the reception and analysis of authentic subject-related texts by experts from German Studies, the learners induce certain phenomena typical of scientific writing through active work on authentic text examples and develop a gradual awareness of the appropriate use of the foreign scientific language and its text-forming means.
