The present work identifies the social factors associated
with high risk sexual behaviors that may lead to the acquisition of
sexually transmitted diseases. The study was conducted with 940
female students. The sociodemographic characteristics identified as
factors of risk were the age, the sexual partners, and the the type
of partner. These fidings show that fifteen percent of those studied
had high risk sexual behaviour. High risk sexual behaviour was
associated with a background of EST, given that the 12% of the
population in the study made reference of having had such a
background in any given moment in their lives
